From Jack Newfield's book "Somebody's Gotta Tell it...." JN: (Posed in 1991) Who would have won if Frazier and Mike Tyson met in their prime? Ali: Joe. By Knockout Page 93 http://books.google.com/books?id=5x...=snippet&q=Mike Tyson vs. Joe Frazier&f=false _________________
I think it's a dead cert that he'd have felt the same. Ali always said that Frazier was the toughest man he'd met in the ring, and one of the toughest of all time. I've read that Muhammad once stated that Joe would stand up to Mike's early storm and knock Tyson out late in the contest.
I kind of expected Ali would say that. Not saying he's wrong neccessarily (Who can say?)...just that that's what I expected. For some reason, Ali was always quite critical of Tyson.
Even before Tyson got beaten by Buster Douglas,Ali was quoted as saying that Tyson could be taken by a mobile fighter who was n't intimidated and had a good right cross.
