Ali gets a bad rap for his way of thinking when in the nation of Islam, but he was a true humanitarian and great man. I wonder what ever happened to the would be jumper and how Ali getting him off that ledge changed his life.
The jumper is a dumbass. He doesn't jump because Ali said not to jump? Why does he listen to Ali and not some random citizen? Why do celebrities have these powers?
Another reason why he's the greatest! Ali was really more than boxing, he was a great man, he stood up for injustice, spoke his mind, and took action.
It was a cry for help or he would have actually jumped. And he probably listened to Ali because random citizens paid him no mind for so long. When a public figure like Ali involves themselves it make the would be jumper feel a sense of value he couldn't get from the average people who didn't really care. Jmo.
Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't feel more confident/valuable/important if a celebrity or famous person had interest in me. They're just human beings. I salute Muhammad Ali though for what he did though.
Ali deserves credit for helping bring the guy down but I'm sure a bucket of KFC would also have done the job.
He wouldnt have recognized a random citizen and thus wouldnt have been brought back to reality. Theres always one...
