Excellent presented video as always. Man, Ali is great but I can't ignore the Liston fixed fight stories. Heck, I'm inclined to believe them. I know ex manager Charles Farrell, who seems an astute fella, says he has it on record from Liston's old manager (I forget his name) that it was indeed fixed. The phantom punch certainly looks dodgy to me. Then the Thrilla in Manila where it is said that Ali was gonna get pulled out himself but luckily for him, Frazier and his team done it seconds earlier. Is this story accurate? If so, he could quite have easily lost that 3 fight rivalry.
Awesome video! I would swap Cleveland Williams for the second Liston fight. The Williams fight seems be referenced by many to be the peak pre ban Ali.
Great video. I love the first win against Liston. Ali was almost blind in the fifth round and yet even with Liston biggest effort he couldn't take him out. Foreman had him against the ropes and yet again he couldn't pull it off despite being one of the hardest hitters ever. Frazier also came strong at Ali in the mid rounds, but Ali comes back strong in the end. I guess what i am trying to say is Ali knew how to turn things around. He was a true underdog and boy did he have success.
