I'm nursing a fractured foot and was slowly going insane, so I put together a mellow Muhammad Ali highlight vid. Hope you guys like it.

    Nice job ..

The only sport and a certain division where you could obviously pick up the best from 40+ years ago drop him in the mix today and he would be BY FAR the quickest, most talented, and most athletic fighter in the heavyweight division.

It makes me laugh when imbeciles try and defend the current crop of average athletes and "C" level talents that fill the division.

There are more great large sized athletes than ever - but NONE are in professional boxing.

Until some find their way into boxing, no one will watch because America's youth knows and rightly believes that the current group of professional heavyweights are simply unimpressive athletically.

Maybe some of the current guys do something for the kids in their own countries .. perhaps the athletic expectations are lower .. the aggregate athletic quality more homogeneous .. over here .. the American heavyweights are undeniably all "C" class and it is obvious the non-Americans are clearly not extraordinary athletes or exceptional talents either.

Weak era. Lack of participation, subsidy, and educational opportunity has left the sport as a second-class endeavor for the time being. Hopefully recognition of that fact - and the clear unobstructed road to the top - will serve as a motivation for some high end athlete(s) to forsake his many opportunities and entreaties from the popular sports to bring the combination of athletic quality, commitment, and talent to a sport and a division in desperate need of a few legitimate stars.

    Thanks, guys. :thumbsup

What struck me when putting the video together was how polished a lot of Ali's opponents were and how he still was able to do what he did. It's laughable when people say that he wouldn't be as great in this era.
