    Yes, despite Ali's big flurry, all in all Shavers took the fifteenth.

    People love to pick on Earnie on this site. He proved in this fight that he could pace himself, box, and fight intelligently. Yes, I wish he'd picked it up a bit, but I still think he won. Like Norton, he got robbed of some serious legacy by the decision. People thought Ali was infallible at the time, and even when he looked like ****, they convinced themselves that he was still magical. He didn't even have to land his jabs for them to score points. Any time people see Ali circling and jabbing, they think he's doing something extra special....but you know what?
    HE"S NOT!!!

    True. That's the same reasoning behind why people bet him to almost even money against Holmes, only to hate Holmes when Larry left judges and fans no room for rosy interpretations and generous scoring for Ali...

    Yeah, it held a certain tension IMO.

    I had Ali taking the fifteenth.

    He didn't.

    He won the first 2:10 of the round but he never had Ali in any serious trouble in that time.

    Ali landed the most telling blows of the round and Ernie was in serious danger of being stopped. 10 more seconds and he probably would have been stopped.

    Just Watched the Ali vs Spinks first fight here is how i scored it

    RD 1: Spinks easily won this round Ali went for the rope and dope tatic not attacking very much and not landing very munch spinks just lay into him

    RD 2: Spink takes this round too he keeps pushing forward attacking Ali while Ali just try's to keep Spinks away with his reach Ali seems really slow.

    RD 3: Ali take this round looking a lot better comes out dancing lands his jabs avoids Spinks attacks he does retreat to the rope and dope about 3 times in this round trying to let spinks punch himself out but Ali does control this round so i give Ali the round

    RD 4: Spinks this was a hard round to score i could have gave it to Alir or Spinks the reason i'm giving it to Spinks is due to Ali doing the rope and dope a lot and taking a lot of punishment i would have said it was a draw but if i have to choose a winner i would have to choose spinks.

    I gave up going into detail after round 4 lol

    RD 5: Spinks

    RD 6: Spinks

    RD 7: Ali (He seemed to have realized by this round that Spinks was not going to get tired and punch himself out so the rope and dope was not going to be effective stop he stopped laying on the ropes as much)

    RD 8: Ali (He Came out and really controlled this round no really using the rope and dope and it paid off)

    RD 9: Ali (Over all i would say Ali won this round Spinks did have him up against the ropes and corner a few times)

    RD 10: Ali ( You could tell Ali was trying to finish Spinks off in this round he was very aggressive and done a lot of attacking)

    So after 10 rounds i have it all even 5 Rounds each Ali made a come back winning the last 4 rounds

    RD 11: Spinks

    RD 12: Ali

    RD 13: Spinks

    RD 14: Spinks

    RD 15: Spinks

    So with Ali winning only one of the last 5 rounds i have Spinks winning the fight with 9 rounds to Ali's 6

    Was a sad fight you could see Ali's age he was too slow for the younger fighter and looked helpless a lot in the fight.

    What you on about ? i said the next fight i was gonna watch after Ali and Shavers was Ali vs Spinks so i put it on here instead of making another thread is that okay with you ?

    Yeah, it's too bad it was so close to the end of the fight. A little longer and then there would have been no question as to who won.

    what do you think about my Score card on Ali and Spinks if u dont mind me asking i have been watching Ali's full career i stared scoring his fights during the first Frazier fight but put my first scoring on this site of the Ali vs Shavers fight.

    then again it probably wasn't worth scoring Ali's fights from 1960 - 1967 cause he normally easily dominated them all.

    i definitely the Ali Frazier 1,Ali Norton 1 and 2,Ali Frazier 3,Ali Foreman and Ali Norton 3

    I Remember i had Norton winning the 3rd Fight like alot of people anyway Shavers was my first fight score card posted on here and my next one will be Ali vs Spinks 2

    I'm not in position to comment on your scoring of Ali-Spinks 1. Haven't seen the fight in years and not really interested in watching it again.

    Keep posting. I like to read your round-by-round scoring. Was Ali - Spinks II as wide as it was scored officially, that's interesting for me.
