    Which middleweight kod Johnson?
Are you referring to Choynski who conceded 63lbs to Jim Jeffries ,yet held him to a 20rds draw?
The same Choynski, Jeffries said was the hardest hitter he ever met?

For the record ,Johnson was known to be a master at anticipating, and smothering jabs ,Ali's best weapon.
I too picked Ali ,but it is no walk in the park for him.
I think maybe some on here know a bit more than you give them credit for.

They are swallowing the load that is the legend of Jack Johnson.

Sure, Marvin Hart gives him a tougher fight than Ali.

Two of the hairiest nights Ali ever experienced in the ring ,came against two of his lightest opponents.
    Doug Jones 188lbs.
    Henry Cooper 185 1/2lbs.

    Its a styles thing.

A bit like Ken Norton giving Ali a tougher fight than George Foreman.

The Hart fight might be a good argumenbt for Joe Frazier beating Johnson, but it is not a good argument for Ali beating Johnson.

Nobody is saying Johnson would whip Ali

But he would definitely be his toughest fight. And IMO his toughest fight for any fantasy matchup.

He could dance just like Ali could. Who knows exactly how he really fought in a competitive match in his prime. GreatA's Johnson tribute has a 3 second very rare clip of Johnson bouncing on his toes like Ali, and pulling his head back to dodge a punch.

Ali would edge this fight, but he wouldnt do it by dancing or using fancy footwork, and im talking in his prime. He would have to win with his heart, will, and determination ala Foreman fight. He would look silly trying to dance around Johnson, who could get to one side of the ring to another with just a little more than a few strides.

It's a completely madness....JJ was great in his time, but in no way will his style be nothing more then obsolete against a modern boxer.
Hell Dempsey makes him look ancient even though there isn't even 10 years between their championship reigns.

I must borrow you guys eyes to see this johnson greatness H2H, because what my eyes see, is this boring black man fighting in old school stance with his chin high in the air and hands at waist line and punching middleweights from the clinch.
Tell me who the hell fights like Johnson nowadays?

Did you saw something that i didn't...?
In the Ketchel and Burns footage he looks as flatfooted as ol' Jeffries was in his training for gus ruhlin

Your not gonna get the vindication your looking for watching his Burns footage, or even any of his footage.

What cameras in those days cannot relay to you are:

    distance judgement
    rhythm
    timing
    reflexes
    balance
    power

its hard enough to catch all the punches with your eye.

You cant even see which muscles are being flexed from any footage from that era.

What fighter fights like Johnson today? lol. Its like asking who fights like Ali today?

When you look at that footage, you can barely percieve it as a real moment being filmed. The boxers look like figurines. Like action figures.

In todays boxing, with all the cameras, when a boxer makes a quick smooth 90 degree pivot, it looks like a nice move. Yet when you see it on 1910's cameras, it looks like its as easy as 123. Look at Johnson when hes diving after the Ketchel KO. The movement doesnt even look real. It looks like there a string tied to him thats making him float. Because the cameras in those days didnt have the capabilities to capture movement and physics like cameras today.

I study film and I can tell his skills are no joke. Fighters do the obvious textbook things to Johnson. It just doesnt work. When hes throwing wild punches, they go for the short straight jab, yet he sees it before you do, so it doesnt work. When you put your guard up, he punches through it. When you comae at him, he moves to the side with perfect timing leaving you off balance looking like a dork. You cant throw combos at the guy because he'll parry your first shot and punch you in the face.

Keeping your hands up, and your chin down is great advice for boxers. But that advice doesn't mean **** to masterclass boxers like Ali, Johnson, Holmes, Lewis.

Do you see Holmes fighting gloves up, head down the whole time? No, because hes at a certain skill level where he doesnt need to.

And if you havent I recommend you check out the HD footage of him if you havent already. I know some people told me it helped them get a new perspective on his abilities.

Ali to big to strong.simple.if they come around at the same time who knows how different jack johnson would have been.in terms of being from different eras in this case there are to many difference in i.e training, conditioning, technique etc etc for these reason that jack johnson imo would be easily pick apart by ali.ali ko.

There was about 2-5lbs difference between their best fighting weights.

I dont think that we can assume an advantage in strength for Ali.
