Ali's first fight since a 3 year exile from Boxing. A very solid comeback. Enjoy. :D

Ali outclassed Jerry both times they fought.

Whats interesting about this fight is Muhammad claims that after 3, he was actually more tired then he expected.

There was no way Quarry was going to absorb the pounding he was receiving long enough to take Ali late, but its still interesting to note that ring rust was affecting Ali's gas take.

So who do you think beat Quarry worst? Ali or Frazier?

I would say that Frazier-Quarry fight was a better style scrap. It seems here Quarry was completely outclassed by Ali. Frazier did.

Not many fighters, aside from Muhammad, would have taken on such a dangerous opponent as Quarry after such a long lay off.

No Pete McNeely types for Ali !!!!

Dempsey fought Tunney after a 3-years layoff, Leonard fought Hagler after a 3-years layoff, Louis fought Charles after a 2-years layoff. And if you ask me, each one of those 3 was more dangerous than Quarry.

    The point is solid.

Its not the greatest comeback from a layoff ever, but it definitely ranks as one of the more impressive.

And, Frazier did more damage to Jerry, beat him up worse, but Ali had an easier time with him. Jerry never gave Muhammad much trouble, he gave Joe a good bit early, but Joe mauled and brutalized Jerry, whereas Muhammad just conclusively outboxed him and diced him up with jabs.
