    Who did you have winning that fight? Young soundly outboxed Ali, but sticking his head outside the ropes might have lost him the contest. On my scorecard, even if I count every time he did that as a knockdown, I still got Young as a victor.

    Young also got credit for many flurries that were below the belt. Something I very seldom see brought up.

    Referee warned him early on, then just let it slide for whatever reason.

    I think I had Young winning by just one point but it was close and I didn't see it a robbery.

    The fight was scored on a five point must system. You have him winning despite being knocked down six times? That's interesting.

    I say they definitely won 4 rounds apiece and the rest were up for grabs.

    Ali got the official decision, but honestly, Jimmy Young probably should’ve won that fight. He outboxed Ali for most of the night — better movement, sharper counters, cleaner punches. Ali looked sluggish, held a lot, and missed more than usual. Young made him look bad, but because he wasn’t aggressive or flashy, the judges didn’t reward his ring generalship.

    It wasn’t a robbery, but it was definitely a hometown-type decision. Young fought the smarter fight and deserved more credit. If the same fight happened today with modern judging criteria, there's a real chance Young walks away with the win.

    Young win pretty clearly hard to give many rounds to Ali from what I remember he just did nothing but throw the occasional flurry while getting outboxed all night

    Young won more rounds but he was too passive against an out of shape lackluster Ali and the point deduction which was deserved BTW made a big difference.

    I always thought Young won it, same with Shavers. Ali got a few decisions in his favor for the ratings.
