" The fight between Karl Mildenberger and Muhammad Ali was the best I ever say from Ali. It´s because Karl was the fastest fighter in Europe and he has also good technical skills, so Ali had to show his abilities. Ah, only a few know this fact, after this fight, the referee´s money was stolen, and when Ali heard that, he gave him the money from his own pocket, that shows what kind of human Ali is..."
Thanks Luigi, actually i'd expected you to squeeze 'This was Ali's best fight, but he can't carry Damiani's jockstrap" somewhere in between.
Hey Guys, Question - I have never seen any of Mildenberger's fights. Was Karl a puncher? Boxer? Good chin? How would Mildenberger compare to say Billy Conn, Bob Pastor, Max Baer, etc. Did Mildenberger land any really good punches on Ali? Seems like the European fighters like Cooper & Mildenberger had the style to trouble Ali a bit. Grebfan9 www.firstroundboxing.com
When Fraizer dies, what Joe Fraizer fights will Espn be airing in his honor?? I know, Ali III and Foreman 1 and 2.
Just follow the link in the initiating post of this thread and you can make yourself a picture of how Mildenberger trouled Ali early on in their fight...
Does anybody else think the fight got stopped a little quickly? Mildenberger didn't look in terrible shape to me in the 12th.
It did look a little hasty ,but the clue might be in Mildenbergers reaction ,or lack of it ,to the refs intervention.Plus karl had been floored 3 times during the fight.
