Speed is important but if you think about it a fly weight is quicker than a middle weight but would not stand a chance due to the size and power of a middleweight. You obviously love Ali so I doubt you would take on board any negative comments about him. But the plain truth is that Lewis is from another era and if boxing where invented today Ali and Lewis would be in different weight divisions. Lewis has too much of evrything for Ali, I could see Ali koed in 1 round to be honest. Look what little Henry Cooper did to Ali when he connected. ooooh Lewis is on another plant to Cooper in terms of .... well everything.

This fight is going to be competitive because both fighters lack the think that the other is most vulnerable to.

Ali does not have the power to capitalise on Lewis's questionable chin and Lewis does not have any of the characteristics that gave Ali fits except a jab and good ring generalship.

I think this goes to the cards.

I am going to predict that Ali's handspeed would be the deciding factor. While both fighters would have problems Ali would be beating Lewis to the punch often enough to edge up more points. I dont agree with those who say that Lewis did not have fast hands incidentaly.

It is dificult to say what Lewis's physical advantages would amount to. He probably wouldnt have a big advantage in striking distance and Ali's speed and reflexes should be enough to close the gap.

Some posters brought up the fact that since Ali was dropped by smaller fighters such as Cooper and Banks, Lewis would destroy him. I think the fact that he was dropped by these men proves that the ability to punch isn't directly related to size. Smaller fighters can still pack a wallop. You don't have to be 250 lbs in order to punch. A 190-200 lb fighter who can effectively and quickly put all of his weight behind a punch can do as much damage, if not more than a bigger fighter who arm punches or doesn't put his weight behind a punch. Plus a 240-250 lb fighter isn't punch proof. He can be hurt just like a smaller fighter....if you catch him just right. Could Lewis catch a lightning fast Ali just right...or just right enough times to stop him? I doubt it. Ali might not have been as big as some of Lewis' opponents but he was crtainly faster than all of them and had as good a chin, or better as well. Lewis wouldn't be punching at a ponderous but durable Vitali or a head case like Golata. He'd be trying to catch the fastest HW of all time who could hit with authority as well (just ask Lyle). Nope...I like Lewis, a good big man if there ever was one but not the type of fighter to beat the best version of the best HW(arguably) of all time.

Ali is 220 pounds so why in the **** would he not be a heavyweight today? You people say some stupid ass ****. As I said Ali beat Foreman who beat Briggs and made him run like a ***** who had Lewis staggering around the ring.

Ali isn't the best heavyweight of all time and you know what no 1 heavyweight is the best of all time. Calling somebody the best is just a opinion thing based on who you want to believe is great.

In reality Ali is highly overrated to a extent like Lewis is underrated. No 190 pound man can punch as hard as a natural 230 pound man period.

Ali was dropped by Cooper a 190 pound fighter and by Doug Jones a 180 pound fighter because his chin was never as good as claimed by Ali could recoup quicker than any heavyweight I ever saw.

Ali wasn't a huge puncher but better than claimed. His knockout over Foreman was from fatigue mostly but that was still better than anybody who Lewis knocked out.

Lewis at his best and Ali at his best I would favor Lewis. Foreman should of beat Ali if it wasn't for his ego. Ali never roped a doped anybody. He prayed Foreman would punch himself out and Foreman fought like a fool and did.

Do you believe Lewis would just punch away like a fool? Probably not. But he could come in out of shape or depending who he beat before take Ali lightly. Lewis had a massive ego too. But as I said if he came into the bout in shape and seriously I would favor Lewis.

And Glover is put on ignored. Now what a ****ing moron.
