In a 12 round fight, I think Tyson's style would give Ali all the hell he could handle for about the first 4 rounds, and, at some point during those rounds, Ali fans would get a scare. During the next 4 rounds, Ali would start to come on, and, by round 8, would be starting to taunt Tyson. At some point during the last 4 rounds, Muhammad Ali would close the show. This is all in my opinion, of course.
ALi would victimise Mike Tyson during the pre fight press conferences, he'd get into his head, Tyson was a ferocious fighter, however, anyone who could stand up to him always had a chance. Ali would mentally break him down and even talk to him during the fight. Tyson would crumble as the fight progresses. Ali wins.
I agree. Ali would be able to take Tysons best shots, even at the speed, accuracy, and power of them. If it was a 15 round fight we all know Ali is conditioned for that, but is Tyson? In the thrilla in Manilla, I don't think Tyson would survive that IMO. He doesn't have the warrior heart. I agree... People aren't taking into consideration how mentally unstable Tyson was. The man would go crazy against ali, with all those insults. Ali would call him a midget.
people seemin to forget mikes mystic aswell in his prime...... i think 9-10 times ali would win...but tyson would win the first fight.... tyson 's speed, power in both hands..and relentlessness.....would catch ali off guard...the 1st fight........imo
If we take both guys in their prime, Ali beats the shite out of Tyson. Tyson would only have a left hook chance. Ali would Buster Douglas Mike worse than Buster did it lol...
Tyson --- too short, too easy to hit, telegraphed alot of his punches. A prime Ali picks him apart. By round 10 Tyson would be done, if not sooner.
I doubt it.....it is his mouth that would win him the fight before it started. The match would only be a formality:bbb
This is a very good point actually A couple of people have mentioned Ali's mind games in the build up though, and factoring that into the equation changes things a bit. I'd still tend to pick Ali over Tyson, I'm not a big fan of either of them though
Just a big mouth? Is that why he beat 3 former greats? (Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman) I hope you know that Ali was only defeated by Frazier once. And this was after his layoff. Fraziers style and Tyson's style are much different. #1Frazier pushes a man and wears him down with uppercuts and left hooks. he eventually KOs him later on. #2Frazier is a slow starter and heats up as the rounds go on, as Tyson starts fast and doesn't have the heart to go at that pace for 12/15 rounds. #3Frazier's chin is much better then Tysons. His heart is also much superior, and head-movement is questionable.
I'd pick Ali, but it wouldn't be asy. Tysons prime hand speed and timing were as good as Ali's, so he would land. If we are going 15, I pick ali to sweep the last three rounds surive and early round KD and win 143-141. Keith
Dont think so. Tyson is too short, one dimensional, easy to hit. Ali would have a picknick with him. Easy fight for Ali.
