This for me is hand's down one of the hardest fights that I could predict. Both were absolute warrior's in their primes.

Could Tyson get to Ali mentally? Would Ali be able to dodge Tyson's bombs all night? Ali's jab would surely frustrate Tyson at some point.

I really cannot come to a clear decision. Part of me thinks Tyson could KO Ali late in the fight. But, on the other hand I think Ali would steal rounds and end the fight winning a decision.

Lets try and unravel this puzzle, because at the moment this fight is a head fcuk!! :patsch

Ali takes him into deep waters and drowns him.

Ali would intimidate the **** into Tyson nobody can touch Ali mentally.

Depends to some extent on the referee. A Tony Perez allowed Ali to get away with a lot of holding. But today's refs do not give such leeway anymore. If the ref took away points for clutching and grabbing then Ali would be in hot water. But if he is given that leeway and it goes into 15 rounds then he should win. Bear in mind that Tyson never fought in the 15 round era and is not conditioned for longer fights.

    He was just being polite.

If Tyson doesn't knock out Ali before round 5, I think Ali dances and wins on TKO / Points. However, Tyson is very likely to land a bomb on Ali before round 5... Does Ali take the bomb, have a wobble and move on, or does he drop?

Ali has a wrought iron jaw. Tyson might manage a flash knockdown at best.

Both Ali and Tyson come from a different generation and respect each other. Anything they say about losing to the other guy is just them being nice/polite to one another

Iron Mike had a Frazier-like style. But was better, in every department. He was faster, more relentless, had more power, bobbed and weaved better.
I just can't see a win for the GOAT

Tyson's style bore no resemblance to Frazier at all.
Frazier was a great inside fighter probably the greatest heavyweight proponent of that style.
Tyson virtually had no inside game at all he was mediocre at best on the inside and would be tied in knots by Ali in there which he couldn't do to Frazier.
All of Tyson's best work was from mid range with his lightning fast combinations, this would make him very dangerous.
Also mentally there's no comparison between the two Ali would play games with Tyson pre fight and during the fight.
After overcoming an early onslaught I'd expect Ali to bust up and stop a dispirited Tyson sometime after the 10th round.

    PRIME ALI vs. PRIME TYSON

Tyson would've matched Ali with his speed. Winning the first 4 rounds, cutting the ring and landing hard right body shots n uppies, left hooks. Where as Ali dodging/stickin' n movin, landing jabs n straight rights. Taking Tyson to deep water, where he (Tyson) doesn't know how it feels to be in second half of the fight. My opinion is Tyson would be knocked out by round 8, due to lack of stamina/agility. Plus, imagining Ali taunting Tyson in the ring. Picture this: Tyson on had seemed to dominate much of that round. Although he would keep throwing punches and coming forward, after the fifth round, Tyson was very tired and he looked increasingly worn out. Ali continued to taunt him by saying "Hit harder! Show me something, Mike" and "That don't hurt. I thought you were supposed to be bad." lol.

"TYSON FALLS IN EIGHT, TO PROVE THAT IM GREAT." -ALI

Exactly. Tyson is made to order for Ali. Ali wouldn't be intimidated, and he had all the skill needed to expose Tyson's weaknesses, both physical and mental. Ali by wide UD or late stoppage.

The greatest boxes circles around Tyson and wins the mental game by a wide margin. UD or late TKO.

:good Completely agree. I seen an early tyson fight when he was koing guys in the first round and there was this one particular fight where he faced some white guy with brown curly hair and he was able to go like 6 rounds with mike just keeping mike on the end of his jab. after watching that fight i realized not only would prime ali beat tyson but he might actually smoke mike for 7 or 8 rounds before ko`ing him late. i have no doubt ali beats tyson. ali was just too dynamic as a fighter and had an iron chin.
