It's still Ali for me, comfortably. Griffo is actually compiling the punchers Ali beat. Holmes lost to three of those.

Well, for me only the forst 4-5 are above the following 15 at a p4p top20. Ali would be under this 15, so he could be ranked inside the top15.

Ok. I can see good arguments for having Ali in top 5, but having him outside it doesn't bother me. Outside the top 10 I see as a bit of a stretch, but there have been so many great fighters down years and it's very hard IMO to compare the records of the old timers with more recent fighters since the sport have changed so much and there are so many factors to weigh in.

I can´t see the argument for Ali ranking above Robinson, Armstrong, Greb and Langford. And the only two fighters who could challenge Charles for the number 5 spot would be Walker and Duran. Ali isn´t quite there but not far behind - just like the rest. You are a fan so, I assume when you put your bias aside you would see it just like me :hey

i'd add mac foster to the huge punchers list. this guy sparked sonny liston in sparring and had 30 knockouts out of 30 wins.
ali fought some monsters back in his day, he is way too underrated these days.

Yes, Ali does have a very impressive record against punchers.

If you are talking about p4p atg, then you have to also take other things into consideration. Like boxing skills, ring savvy, durability, facing all deserving opponents, longevity, ability to come back, etc. How many of these qualities did Ali have, or lack. Reply truthfully and you will get the answer.

Anything below No. 3 p4p is prejudice, nothing else.

Discrimination is not prejudice. It is not always unfair and can defined as "the ability or power to discern and make distinctions". I discern distinctions between the HW division and the lower divisions -in terms of skill, speed, stamina, numbers, and thus in terms of level of opposition.

Yes. The over-reliance on power among many HWs is to the detriment of skill development and stamina. They're only getting fatter with each successive era... and that seems to prove the point.

    Wha?!

    Wha?!
