Prime Ali 66-67 vs prime Marciano

I think Ali would have won the fight by UD or tko.

I think Alis foootwork and speed would be to much for rocky.

Who do you guys think would win?

Although Rocky might have been Ali's toughest opponent the 2 styles would clash!..Ali was 66-67 was way to fast for The Rock. I see Ali's jab making great progress early in the fight and Marciano's inability to force a brawl would leave him powerless. I dont see this fight going the distance at all. Ali by TKO within 10.

    I can't envision a clear cut victor.

Slow as a wet week Doug Jones pepperd Ali at will and rearly went downstairs to his body.

The Rock would attack his body something terrible and if he slowed down Ali he may win.
Rock was great at cutting off the ring. None of the greats he fought could escape him.
Foreman was one of the ATG ring cutters and he left nowhere for Ali to hide. Granted a past prime Ali , but Rocky could definitely corner him long enough to wear him down over 15 round.

They weren't allowed to bring their walkers into the ring.

If they fought in the 50s Ali by UD

If they fought in a more modern era Ali probably gets a stoppage on cuts.

Ali probably decisions him. Maybe stops him later on.

Marciano has a good chance at beating Ali. I wouldn't be surprised to hear he won. Power and relentless pressure is a good formula to beat Ali.

Noone that Ali fought that employed those tactics and had them as an asset were good enough to pull it off, except Frazier. Marciano was as good as Frazier in that regard, in his own (different) way.

I like Marciano, one of my favorite fighters, like Ali said Rocky was better than Joe F and had 2 hands....this is a rugged fight and the pace would be horrific so IMO Marciano wear Ali down, Ali could handle the big slow paced guys but he had trouble with 6" 190lb Jones, 189lb Cooper, 5'11 205 lb Frazier,Bonavena 5"10 so I think the smaller, faster pace guys could get to him and Marciano fired from weird angles Marciano UD or late stoppage

Ali runs around again and gets the decision.

Not a fan of that style fighting at all.

Smaller ring size a la Jack Dempsey's time and it would change the outcome some.

Clay was dinged, not practically KO'd, by Cooper, not Ali, not the prime fighter Clay became.

Ali had one of the greatest beards ever displayed by a heavyweight. I think Ali has a far better chance at getting the KO here.

Clay was more than "dinged" by Cooper he was knocked into la la land. He should have been disqualified for receiving smelling salts in between rounds. A strict no no by british boxing regulations. He clearly needed them as he tried to walk out and fight after just getting to his seat. That being said this is a great what if match up. I understand many people who feel the physical advantages Ali possessed are just too hard to ignore in speed, size, quickness and reach. Rocky was as determined and fit as they came and his punch never lost power. Unless a cut happens early to Rocky which is quite possible this would be a hard fought 15 rounder.
