Been watching videos as of late of both ali and marciano. I think both are excellent fighters with great styles. I been thinking which fighter would win if they had actually fought. Obviously ali would be the favorite. I was rewatching marcianos fight against the top fighters he faced during his time ( walcott , louis , moore) i noticed they all were movers and jabbed at marciano alot . They moved around and fought long with the jab. Not saying they fight exactly like ali. Just pointing out that marciano has alot of experience with movers that jab. So what if we had a prime Ali vs a prime Marciano . who would win ? Ali would start off moving around jabbing like. Moore, walcott did . How would this fight go? Would ali out point marciano or maybe stop him later on from jabs and cuts ? Or would marcianos head crouch body rippling head tumbling shots wear ali down and stop him ?

This fight has been done to death, and in more creative ways. My opinion remains that Marciano works his way to a tight UD against Ali.
Ali stops him, more than likely on cuts, late around the 13 th. But Marciano does hurt him and Ali would later say one of his toughest fights.
I'm completely with Fergy on this. Rocky was an excellent puncher, but he was more right hand than left (neither hand was a joke in any way). Ali had a way of weathering right hands (see Shavers). If Rocky had a Frazier or Cooper-level left hook he'd knock him down, but I too see Ali winning by stoppage. Not to take ANY thing away from Rocky, amazing fighter!!!
