Muhammad Ali vs Ron Lyle

    As much as I like Lyle and dislike Ali, it's hard to make a case for Ron after 46 unanswered punches. He was dazed and confused. A standing 8 would've helped. But even if he'd lasted the round, I think he was spent and wouldn't have made it 15. In hindsight, a pretty good win for Ali despite the first 10 rounds being a bore.

    I have a nostalgic streak for this era like anyone who lived through it... but these guys look horrible. Ali's dancing is impressive... if it were a dancing exhibition and he does close the show well. But something reaks of pro wrestling here and of faded skills versus little skill.

    If the fight would have went on much longer, Lyle would have been knocked out cold. Ali was getting reluctant to punch him at the end.
