    Fantastic. Thanks.

I’d read about Goulet getting the lyrics wrong for the national anthem but I hadn’t actually seen/heard it before.

Apparently it was Goulet’s first live rendition - big hoopla at the time. People often like to made a big deal out of nothing.

Gotta love Liston’s answer to the Ali shuffle - he simply shot out the telescopic jab for a decent connection.

Ali said he was going to throw a right hand after the shuffle but Liston “got in the way”. Lol.

In AKA Cassius Clay, Ali demonstrated the Ali shuffle inviting D’Amato to have an answer to it - Cus leaned and jabbed to the body. Ali was impressed. Liston’s jabbing to the head was equally impressive.

Imo, Ali primarily causes all the trouble in Lewiston. When Liston fell back down it did look fake but note that Ali yet again buzzed by him within a sec after that.

It’s not improbable that Liston spied Ali circling yet back again and so deliberately fell back down to stay out of harm’s way.

Ali was acting like a crazy man who, as far Liston knew, might well have struck Sonny as he arose from the canvas.

See in another fight how Ali showed total disdain for the rules and the referee after the first KD fight of Bonavena.

In all seriousness, Ali had set himself up for possible DQ in the Ringo fight - but it was Ali after all, so it was never going to happen.

The fight should have continued imo. Walcott botched it. Liston was in for a long night he looked markedly slower in this fight and Ali’s confidence was through the roof.
