Muhammad Ali 'The Greatest' - is the greatest heavyweight & arguably the greatest fighter of all-time. He fought the best & beat the best in the toughest era of hw boxing. He fought a bunch of different styles. However, the style that he didn't face often and the style that I feel would give him the most trouble is the slick-boxer style. Jimmy Young gave him many problems during their fight - where he looked awful (although he was way past it here).
How does prime Ali fare against:
    Tunney
    Schmeling
    Braddock
    Conn
    Farr
    Walcott
    Charles
    Holmes
    Young
    M Spinks
    Byrd
    Fury

Beats them all. Sadly. He stops about four or so, the likes of Walcott, Spinks, Conn, Farr and maybe Byrd. He beats the rest clearly, except Holmes. He has major trouble with Larry.

And I'd hesitate profusely before calling Braddock and Farr slicksters.

Prime Ali beats them all except Larry Holmes which would have been an incredible match.

Ali dominates all with the exception of Holmes , but he'd win
    a clear decision.
He probably stop all with exception of Fury, Holmes, and Young.
    Maybe Byrd.

I have to see if Tyson Fury can defeat Wilder again, and defeat Anthony Joshua before including him in this hypothetical contest. Although his victory over Deontay Wilder was impressive, it was one victory. He needs to earn his stripes first, like the past all time greats.

Lets stop this, he was not the "greatest". Thats you're opinion! He was very good though. And what timeframe IS peak ali? I really think its after his draftdodging fiasco myself, not the young track star. But either could give anyone fits. The last five on you're lis I'm most familiar with, and and of them could trouble ali. I'd definatly pick Holmes over ali. As much as I like Fury I think ali could take him

He has trouble with Holmes, Spinks and Fury, who can all outpoint him. Even Byrd has a chance, although Ali's favorite.
He probably beats Walcott, Young and Charles, although not by a huge margin, since they were skilled enough not to get embarrassed.
He demolishes the rest. Tunney, Braddock, Conn and Farr would look like bums/jokes compared to him.

I’m telling you now Michael Spinks would’ve gave him much trouble
