I think Ali wins. Vitali is a good fighter, but Ali's reach is the same length and he has a faster, sharper jab (George Foreman, who fought Holyfield, Cooney, etc said Ali's jab was too fast to counter). Ali could rip out combinations, could take a punch (took shots from Foreman, Frazier, Shavers, etc).

Also, some may point that the punchers he faced weren't that good. But George Foreman who fought both in the 70s and the 90s fought the likes of Evander Holyfield. Holyfield remarked that nobody, not even Tyson or Lewis (Lewis was the size of Vitali) hit harder than George. So Ali COULD take a punch.

Muhammad Ali in the 1960's could dance even in the 15th round, he had crazy amounts of stamina.

I wonder if Ali could cut Vitali like he did Quarry, or like Lewis did Vitali. Ali had the fastest and sharpest jab of all heavyweights.

 

Vitali would knock him out in round 8 or 9.

 

I don't think anyone could KO a prime Muhammad Ali.

 

Even Jason Gavern would knock him out .. boxers from Ali's era wouldn't even be Top 50 nowadays.

 

These types of arguments are just silly.

George Foreman was from Ali's era, and he fought in the 1990's and beat Michael Moorer, he proved his power was legit. In fact, he was knocking out most contenders.

Heavyweights are bigger today, but most tire out after 6 or 7 rounds.
