:good Nice one,John ! Not forgetting that Ali would have lost to Jean-Pierre Coopman if the Belgian had accepted help from the Puerto Rican witch doctor.
*second fight "won" on controversial decision with the announced "winner" getting away with astonishing amount of illegal tactics to aid in the disputed outcome. Even with the illegal tactics the majority of sportswriters at ringside scored the fight for Frazier. Quite interesting how there was a unusual delay before the decision was announced. Of course, it was known even before the fight that boxing would benefit by an Ali win. ($$$) Some "victory."
expect "Stevie G" 2 b de last man posting . He is not a private man like most here , he probably gets paid by Ali or 1 of his attorneys / family members / publicity firm or something .
Mmmmmm..............I dunno. If you're gonna make a claim like that, I think you need to back it up with some data. What is this "majority of sportswriters" thinking Frazier got the shaft? Like whom? How many compared to how many? I call bull**** on this.
I don't bull****, bud. The late Red Smith, famed sportswriter, was one of them that scored it for Frazier. There was a poll of sportswriters after the fight and the majority of them scored it for Frazier. Of course, they were up close and could see the crap Ali was allowed to get away with that night. Do some research.
Joe Frazier vs Muhammad Ali II. Muhammad won in rounds, but 'Smokin Joe' won on points. Referee Tony Perez could have penalized the 'clincher and holder' 5-points.
