In 1984 sparring session. This retired old fox sick with Parkinson still had a lesson for the young guys

It shows how much easier it is to look good in training than in real fight. This version of Ali would have lost to any decent journeyman. A lesson to you @Johnny_B ;)

It is said that whenever he stepped into his ring, until close to his dying day, he came alive.

For hardcore hardcore fans - us - hardcore history fans, hardcore fans who invest real time in boxing, Ali is kinda - overexposed. Endless documentaries and books. You want to see that energy spent elsewhere, it's frustrating.

But he was a great, great man and a great, great fighter. Imagine actually being the greatest heavyweight of all time? There he is right there.

He shouldn't have been in a boxing ring in 84 "period. Sure
it can be seen some flashes of his former brilliance ,
but he still was getting hit in the head.
If his family or close friends allowed him to spar
like (He's a warrior, of course he would) that,
    they
should be ashamed of themselves knowing his
    condition.

Despite Parkinson's syndrome it's said that he never lost his muscle memory when it came to boxing. That he, even when he otherwise was almost paralysed, still could give the heavy bag a mean work over.

He could have came back and beat Tyson then moved on to Holyfield and Bowe.

No telling how good he could have been by 2020 if he hadn't up and died.

He didn't look incredible but that was a fierce bit of sparring.
Porter, a pro fighter who was about 26, got fresh there, and Ali had to go into beast mode. Crazy stuff.
