Lets look, at the opponents. The men he built his legacy against. Seriously what good 10 round opposition did he face in 10 round fights?

    Here are his best opponents
    Trevor Berbick, 13-0-1, lost
Doug Jones, 10-3-1 under 190Ibs, couldn't KO him
Alonzo Johnson, 7-6, under 190Ibs, couldn't KO him
Billy Daniels, 3-0, good height but under 190Ibs
Duke Sabedong, 5-7-1, couldn't KO him

This is really what his legacy (as a 10 round fighter) are based on?

He didn't want to face the Vietcong's artillery so there's no way he would have wanted to face Shannon 'the Cannon' Briggs!!

i believe Muhammad blatantly ducked, nor even once contemplated facing, the rampant number one ATG of his era too, that guy called cassius clay. A clear duck if there ever was one.

Never once answered why he didnt fight Clay. Never once said "hey I'm gonna fight Cassius next!". Even died early to avoid answering, I wonder why.

Yeh I'd have loved to have asked him why, see the ducking expression on his face.

hmm this must be what it feels like to write a Mendooza post.

I don't why he didn't keep his first name, Cassius? That's a nice name and while he might have thought that Clay was a slave name, it was his parents that give him his first name. Think of Dwight Braxton, Eddie Gregory and Matthew Franklin. They all kept their first names when they converted to being Muslims.

    Cassius Ali sounds good. ;)

I thought I heard that the name was a sort of honorary thing.
