Muhammad Ali's 9 title challengers from 1965-1967 have been dumped into 2021. Can fighters like Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston or even Karl Mildenberger compete with the influx of the current crop of heavyweight contenders?

If they were able to get stronger in order to not be pushed around as easily then I'd say Patterson and Liston would be pretty good. Patterson as a 205-210 lbr and Liston even as just the size he was. Karl Mildenberger would probably have been European level status and get a shot at the title but I couldn't see him winning it.

Patterson would do really good imo because of his speed and technical ability. That would prove fits for a lot of guys these days. I could see him winning a title for sure.

You know I agree with you on Floyd's projected success, he had speed, combination punching. On July 5 1964, he demonstrated his skill in his unanimous points win over Eddie Machen in Sweden. And he did look very impressive in his win over George Chuvalo on Feb 1 1965 in Canada,

Floyd v Usyk would interesting because Floyd would have been one of the few fighters at cruiser that could have beaten Usyk, Usyk would have a notable size advantage though as would the other heavyweight contenders, Floyd wouldn`t be able to take their power.
