Right now, boxing needs entertainment, i mean when it comes to stirring controversy and hype. Floyd is currently filling that role, cause nobody 'can.' Pacquiao is too nice for TV and can barely speak English, Bhop does 'not' look good on TV despite having a sharp tongue, Klitschkos are boring, i mean, in a way Floyd helps out boxing by acting like a bad guy. He is the closest thing we could get to Ali (no, i am not comparing Ali to Floyd, not even close when it comes to their IQ and level of competition, all im saying is boxing needs Floyd now despite his antics)...HBO needs him, 24/7 needs him, even if he is an ass, people pay attention to him.

Only some people pay attention to him. In my experience, most people don't even know who he is. I have strong doubts that Floyd does anything to actually significantly increase the number of people who follow boxing. However, he does increase the number of people who pay attention to him within the portion of the population who already follow boxing.

To his credit, Pac does increase the number of people who follow boxing, but his ability to draw more fans is narrow because, like you say, his English is limited.
