    I didn't bring up race. I'm sure maybe the fact that he's black and loud does add to his villain role more for some people, but I'm not even getting into that.

    That's just it, though. The video posted underscores the historical fact that Ali's perceived role as a villain was very much tied up with race. If the point is that Floyd's situation is analogous to Ali's as Ali himself portrayed it in the video, then that's not persuasive.

    No I see it more of him just getting people to dislike him to see him lose and he just happened to use to use the racial angle to help him do that.
    Floyd isn't doing it with the same racial angle, but he's still making them hate him

    Black alone ain't enough you have to be cocky with it.

    The scene when ali is pretending to count the money is priceless, that is exactly what floyd does having suckered his haters in who have paid to see him lose.

    Do you know something, floyd does not have the most fan friendly style in the ring yet he is the biggest draw in the sport? Why?

    Because a lot of people pay to see him lose, WHY?

    Because he is a COCKY BLACK MAN, who doesn't fall back and play his position.:deal

    No question about that last point. That's a big reason why he can't get away with the same things Pac often gets away with. That said, there's a limit to how much that can help him bring in a paycheck.

    I think Floyd would do better if he could make himself a polarizing figure as much as Ali was during his time. Doesn't have to be a racial thing either.

    To late in Floyd's career to make anything like that happen. He only has maybe 3 fights left at the most. Might as well stick to what works while the money is good.

    ali had a sub 100 IQ level - i think it was around 90.

    ali was just someone we hadnt seen before in terms of a sportsmans personality. now hes no different to any other cocky/flambouyont sportsmen
