Two minutes is difficult enough to watch for the high majority of women's boxing (and some men's boxing, to be honest) The overall skill level of women's boxing is not nearly at the level it needs to be in order to make three minute rounds a positive viewing experience. I thought the Taylor-Serrano fight was very entertaining but that has not often been my experience.

Instead of raisihg it to 3 minutes or keeping it two minutes, how about lowering the rounds to 10 seconds

I don't need more minutes of filler than already exist on boxing cards, so no thanks. I'm happy with the current pacing.

12 rounds is a change they should make immediately. But three minute rounds is less of a clear win.

Clearly the top women are serious but after the top 10-15 P4P it gets really uneven.

Two minute rounds is helping the sport develop by decreasing the number of disfiguring injuries to cute combatants and helping avoid the sport getting banned.

I think that the rounds should be three mins and twelve rounds. They can handle it and we would start seeing better fighters. Women fighters are developing at a rapid pace.

If womens boxing wants to be seen as a legitimate but inferior version to the mens sport.

Then all rounds should be 3 minutes long and all title fights should be 3 minutes x 12 rounds.

The womens tennis game today still has not even bothered to move to best of 5 sets in grand slams. They get paid millions for winning those Grand slams although womens tennis is far more watchable for men. With men being those who watch the most sport.

You can’t claim to be equal and demand respect then play the game on easy mode.

Yep this, no reason really why women shouldn't box 3 min rounds like men. This ridiculous notion women are some how more fragile and need to be treated differently in sports is antiquated, like how they for so long refused women to run the marathon or even more recently didn't allow women to pole vault because it was seen as too dangerous for women lol. Women in regards to endurance are capable of 3 min x 12 rounds just like women are capable of 5 sets of tennis, so no reason for it not to change.

Women are at a massively higher risk from concussion and brain injury than men, even at much lower impacts, like the ones they would be taking from getting punched by other women. Loads of research has been done on this, just google it. That's the main reason why women do 2 minutes rounds, it's based on medical advise. Or 'following the science' as people like to say all of a sudden. Not that it will make any difference in today's clown world where people are outraged and offended by objective reality, especially when it comes to the physical differences between men and women, and I'm sure we will see women doing 3 minute rounds soon enough.

But you would expect women's work rate to drop, you can't maintain the same work rate for a 3 min round as a 2 min round so it might not even mean women get hit much more, it would just introduce a greater endurance element and bring the sport in line with the men's sport.

Also if this is the case why is women's rugby the same length of time as men's as there's countless concussions and head injuries in rugby, probably more so than in boxing?

Well if they want to box 3 minute rounds then that's up to them, everyone knows the risks. Just like how we don't limit boxing to just 8 rounds, even though we know that it's after this point that most brain injuries happen. But for me personally I'd like to see less women's boxing, not more.

Scientists all have different opinions on everything. People who say follow the science are people who either are too lazy to do their own research or people who are too stupid to understand what is going on. It was something that was latched onto by English literature graduates in the media and PPE graduates in politics very recently.

Women are either fit to fight or they aren’t.

If you admit they can’t do 3 minute rounds because of neurological and brain issues then you are also saying that 2 minutes isn’t really safe either.

That is where we get into the territory of banning professional boxing as certain far left wing countries like Cuba and Sweden have done. We aren’t far off them politically now either.

You box knowing the risks and you don’t need a MSC degree to work out what those are.
