The second link is a fansite for St George, and even then, they qualify their statement with "reportedly signing the star for...".

The 3rd link is some newspaper chick's diary of Mundine's life She states he was on $2 million for 3 years, so that's not the same as "$600k" a season.

Seems no one can get their story straight when it comes to Mundine's fabled NRL contract :yep

You're right, his actual contract is irrelevant, because money was being thrown at players left, right and centre back then, and as someone else has already said on this thread, it's not all about the money - check the achievements of Brad Fittler, Laurie Daley and Andrew Johns and compare them to Mundine's and you'll see the absolute chasm in class between those 3 and the above average-in-attack-but-woeful-in-defence-and-teamwork Mundine.
