A fine player alright, but legacies aren't measured in dollars.

He was never gonna have a legacy as great as others in league, he left in his prime. But his skills were just as good. Obviously ppl in the know felt that way that's why they paid him.

Exactly the point people have been trying to make in the comparisons drawn in this thread between Daley, Freddie and Mundine. He was a fine player yes. But only fools would compare his to the legacies those guys left.

    why?

choc never said he had a better career then them, just that he felt he was a better player. if he was galaxy behind them like most ppl are making out, then why did he get paid more then them?

He was a very good player, but Daley and Freddie were better. Unfortunately Anthony Mundine's ego didn't allow him to accept that though, and he even went to the extent of playing the race card when left out of rep teams. People need to move on from this stuff. It's 10 years out of date by now.

Hey whopsie mate, there are a half a dozen highest paid AFL footballers (and in comparison way higher paid then Anthony) who are yet to play to thier full potential.....the money they are paid doesn't reflect where they sit in player rankings and ability as footballers. Anthony showed the potetial and was rewarded, sadly he never really reached the hieghts of success in the game as the greats.

Mundine left rugby at 24 so we will never actually know what his true potential was in that sport. The AFL have much bigger budgets and these players are NOW being over paid becasue of the new teams arriving and there is a rush to sign the best kids for long term deals , very differnt things . Go back 11yrs and tell me which afl players that were the highest paid on potential only?

Who gives a **** what he was paid. He never wore a state or national jersey in league and he never won a legit world title in boxing. Overrated by so many of you delusional ****s on here and a waste of talent because he never had the balls to chase the big fights.
