The article below is from the WBA website. If you dont wanna read it - it just says neither Mundines reps nor Trouts turned up for the purse bid. We know Trout has a fight lined up for HBO so I see why he didnt show but for a measly $150 g's Mundine could been promoting this as a mega-world title fight on OZ if he'd actually wanted it. Disappointing yet again from team Mundine.

The world champion and the Interim Champion will have to wait for the WBA decision regarding the fight.
The World Championships Committee directed Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, World Boxing Association Vice-president, declared the Purse Bid to grant the promotional rights for the Super Welterweight title fight between the regular champion Austin Trout and the Interim champion Anthony Mundine.
The Bidding process was supposed to take place on Thursday March 29, at the WBA office in Panama; however, none of the representatives attended the summoned gathering.
For this reason, Mendoza announced that the WBA reserves the right to apply the necessary measures.
Wealth TV representative was at the Purse Bid in Panama with a cashierÂ’s check and a very generous offer. However, he could not participate as he is not a registered promoter.

We know Trout has a fight lined up on HBO against Dawson 'conqueror' Dzinziruk. It's worth a heck of a lot more cash to him than a mundine fight at pursebid. Mundine is worth peanuts in the states and trout doesnt have the cash or know how to put on a big promotion there.

Mundine on the other hand could have got a fairly 'cheap' world champion for a world title fight and he has all the experience, cash and know how to make it a huge event in Australia.

I seriously don't know why people still harp on about Choc ducking fighters.
I'm a fan but its a clear as the nose on your face that Choc hasn't fought an opponent of note for a very long time and obviously has no intention of doing so, take him as he is.

You are right Whipsy. I guess I'm just disappointed cos I hoped Mundine was waiting for the purse-bid to get Trout in OZ at a lower cost. But I guess that was just a pipe-dream.

LULLLZZZZZ You were originally backing Mundine's claims that Trout was demanding options as his excuse for declining a fight with him to so he could fight Alvarez to become Trout's mandatory.

Jealous(e) Ty: <insert name of boxer> will never do that, never!!

2 days later: See, I told you <insert name of boxer> would do that!!!

    You ****en LOOOO-HOOOO-SEERRRRRRRR :hi:

    Come on man, seriously?

With Trout not turning up, all Mundine had to do was rock up and make a minimal offer and he would have won an uncontested purse bid. Trout would then have been obliged to fight him as his mandatory.

How you can try to blame Trout for this I dunno :verysad

Trout doesn't have to show up - Mundine was his mandatory, whether Trout was there or not makes no difference - it was up to the mandatory challenger to place a bid.

Mundine's dicked Trout around for a year now - why would Trout waste any more time turning up when he knew Mundine wouldn't show?
