Oh well that puts a Trout-Dzinzirik,Geale-Pirog double header out of contention. Hope Geale-Pirog unification still happens.

Only a few days ago Trout v Dzinzirik was still being talked about for August 25th. Perhaps Trout intends fitting Rodriguez in roughly, end of May or early June, prior to fighting Dzinzirik.

Forget Trout. Choc's going out on a high without him :good

Austin Trout is reportedly furious that Anthony Mundine has ducked him, referring to Mundine as a mouse, a fraud and a joke >>>

"Anthony Mundine's a joke," Trout fumed last night from the US. "I've been looking forward to fighting him, to knocking him out, since last August but all we've heard from his mouth are excuses.

"He kept saying he wanted this option, that option, a re-match clause. Then he came out and publicly accused me of ducking him.

"Yet when the WBA finally steps in and demands a purse bid he doesn't attend. The guy's all talk. How do you conquer America by backing out of world title fights?"

Austin Trout has signed to defend his WBA light middleweight title against Delvin Rodriguez on June 2nd in California.

On the same card Antonio Tarver will defend his IBO cruiserweight title against Lateef Kayode, and Vusi Malinga and Leo Santa Cruz will meet for the vacant IBF bantamweight title.

'Winky' Wright is also listed on the undercard against Peter Quillin in what looks like a belter of a night's fighting :good

Rodriguez is a big ask for trout and I'm not sure if he'll make it to the HBO double card tbh.

Rodriguez is a warrior as he showed in his two bouts with Pawel Wolak. The first one, which ended in a draw, was just a two man war >>>

The first fight was a beauty.

Brutal fight. I thought Wolak's eye was going to explode.

If Rodriguez is able to apply similar pressure to Austin Trout it will be interesting to see how Trout gets on.
