The problem with the AUS flag is that it has to much history with australians, it was flown in WWI and WW2 there is no way its going to be changed, it would divide a country imo in doing so. There is to much history embeded within our nations flag.

The comment he makes about welfare is not a really fair or educated comment. You cant just walk into a centerlink office and claim your aborignal, it just doesnt work that way, you must have the correct paperwork and be recognised by an Aborignal community in order to prove you are Aborignal, personally i dont think the goverment should be doing what its doing, giving one payment to Aborignals and another to non Aborignals, it also divides the nation, it shouldnt matter if you are Aborignal or non aborignal, everyone should recieve the same benifits. In saying that i do agree that Aborignals should recieve some type of assistance in purchasing housing, starting small bussiness etc as they do need help with this but we all eat the same, live the same, to give them more money just isnt right, do they eat more than non australians? are their expenses more, i dont think so, its just a way to make the goverment feel better about what past goverments have done, level the playing feild and you wont have problems like this with people thinking they get hand outs and non Aborignals do not.

Many people come before the lands councils and try get paper work so they can get that bit extra from centerlink, the land councils are aware of this and ive seen people as dark as the ace of spades have to prove they are aborignal when its pretty obvise if you open ya eyes you can see they are. The door swings both ways, there has been debates about this on ABC with an open forum it was very educational and its where i get alot of what im talking about from. Watched it a while ago, cant seem to find it now on Google, stumbled across it when looking for something else a while back.

There are seperate pyments for indigenous Australians, such as ABSTUDY but you will find they're paid at the same rate as the mainstream payments. It's an unfortunate myth that Indigenous people are entitled to more welfare money through Indigenous payment schemes, all payments are the same it's just that centrelink package seperate Indigenous and mainstream payments.
I've never been able to find a reason why they do this, perhaps they like to keep tabs on how many Indigenous people are claiming benefits, it's unfortunate as it only fuels the rumor mill and feeds ignorance.

He might explain them but could never justify them.
So in your opinion is the Mouth now vindicated by this so called apology ?
It was very obvious that there was none for Geale.

Must take a certain type to support this sad, shallow obnoxious human being. :-(

The only thing that is going to be united is Mundine's face with the canvas.

Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) legal director Michael Mansell responded to Mundine's original comments

"In this day and age, that sort of notion is just rejected across the board in white Australia and in black Australia."

Mr Mansell likened Mundine's comments to neo-Nazi beliefs.

"His comments were hurtful to Aboriginal people, they were racist and they were grubby, and his comments about the colour of the skin of his opponent's wife and the child of his opponent were just unforgivable," he said.

"We thought we'd won this battle in the 1970s, but this sort of resurgence of this sort of neo-Nazi-type purity of race that's creeping back into the debate, expressed by a high-profile Aboriginal person such as Anthony Mundine doesn't help the cause at all."

Hi all, interesting topic, you'll find NT have a system where Aboriginal people are paid with basic cards, this mean they don't receive monies in t he bank they get Coles Kmart cards etc. they are also restricted to what they can purchase no alcohol, cigarettes soft drink etc. I am not sure but this was talk about being Trialed in and around country nswnot sure if that was only Ind people or if it was across the board.

Funny how he mentions the Union Jack of the flag represents the white invasion where there were killings, rapes and pillaging. It must be a slight oversight on his part as his raghead Taliban mates in Afghanistan and across the Middle East have been doing the same thing for many years. Simple oversight obviously or maybe infact, camel jockey blinkers.

He owes Geales wife and family an apology too. But it takes a bigger man than Mundine to admit he was wrong and apologise for making such inappropriate and racist comments.
