huge fight. id love to see a free to air tv pick this fight up, and have boxing go mainstream. i guess thats a lot of dollars to pay, but the potential of national interest,, would see sponsors and advertisers salivating to get air time between rounds.

a clever tv exec would pick it up. ch9 is going broke, so it wont be them. but to get boxing back of free to air, like fenech did a few times would be a huge shot in the arm for the sport.

it will sell lots of ppv. but im sure a tv exec could make the same sort of revenue through advertising. the buildup to this fight is going to be huge.

    cant wait.

No even though there would be actual WT belts on the line if this is true it won't generate as much interest as Green-Mundine.

I wish this was all true but it's not. No advertisers would be salivating Sally. That's the unfortunate reality of boxing today. It's a niche market and therefore must rely on its audience paying to watch the fight rather than have advertisers paying for the audience it brings. (if that makes sense)

Yep, the Green v Mundine fight couldn't even attract FTA interests how is Geale v Shot Mundine going to come even close.

There is just too much money in PPV these days...... The Fenech era was the last of that FTA situation. The Pay TV industry wideworld changed everything.

Anthony ‘The Man’ Mundine and duel world Middleweight belt holder, Daniel ‘The Real Deal’ Geale have agreed on terms for a fight, targeted for early 2013 with an official announcement expected to be made later this week.

Sources close to the fight, revealed the match-up to Aus-Boxing.com*two weeks ago.

In their first fight, it was Mundine who won a controversial decision over his fellow Australian, with the majority of fans walking away saying that Geale was robbed.

Since the fight, Geale has gone on to claim both the IBF and WBA Middleweight titles, but is expected to vacate the IBF title in favor of his rematch with Mundine.

“I am sick of people jumping on the Geale bandwagon, I feel he is no better than he was when I first fought him,” Mundine told The Daily Telegraph.

“I am still gunning for Mayweather, and I will be in high demand as the unified champion.”

Biggest Aussie V Aussie legacy wise most definatly! Fenech v Nelson 2 where and are bigger names internationally. So I think that was a bigger fight.

This fight had to happened and it's great for Aussie boxing. A unification fight in australia with the 2 best Australian boxers going at it. The man has all the fame, money and stardom in Australia and will sell this fight extremely well. And geale brings the 2 titles.
