I would hardly refer to what Geale said as "talking ****" - look at Mundine's lack of interest in rematching Geale when the IBO ordered it compared to how he's trying to ride Geale's coattails now.

Geale is well within his rights to chide Mundine for ducking the rematch, and is more than qualified to comment on the quality of Mundine's opposition.

Tell me who on Mundine's resume match the likes of Karmazin and Sylvester in quality of opponent, then tell me what year Mundine fought them and what the results were :deal

 

Who are these much better fighters than Sylvester?
And when was it?

I have looked at his record, many times.

But isn't that the exact reason Mandy used when he wouldn't give the rematch to Geale a year or so ago?

The palava from BOXA in late 2009 - when Geale v Mundine II should have happened - was that Geale didn't bring anything to the table.

Wonder what the ridiculous 'running man' Falliga bought to the table back then - other than another pushover PPV fight for Mundine?

...and it didn't get any better from there with Medley, Jerez, Waters, Wood, Wood II and the next nobody in the procession, Toliver!


Apart from money, which Geale should be able to get elsewhere, what does Mundine bring to the table now?

 

Would rather Geale looked forward not back.

We've seen Wood KO Choc and demonstrate where Choc's career is at - and the win in the rematch doesn't erase the embarrassment of the KO in their first meeting. Their records will just show they split their rubber one all, and the decisive victory was Wood's.

The only reason Geale might get seduced into a rematch with Mundine is money, and plenty of it, with Grange calling the shots in the negotiations.

 

I know your blind by hate so I will point out what even I thought a blind man could see...

A fight with Mundine brings the following benefits....

1. Lots of money IMO more than if he fights Martinez
2. Opportunity to avenge his only loss....Mundines the only guy to beat Geale
3. Opportunity to retire Mundine...choc is on the slide and another loss could be the end.
4. Increase his profile in this country IMO more than if he fights Martinez
5. Huge publicity......Grange can set up a solid base of PPV fans
6. Mundine brings a 40 - 4 record
7. Mundine brings the IBF # 4 ranking


I have another 3 or 4 reasons but I will save them up for later

 

You're one of the very few people here pushing for a rematch. The vast majority want to see Geale move forward.

 

Boxing is a business and it's a good boxing business decision...low risk high reward...ever heard anybody mention that in boxing before? :deal

 

I've heard its converse (high risk/low reward) used by Mundine to describe himself when talking about how all the champs keep ducking him

I agreed with this up until Wood beat Mandy.
The sting has been taken away from any new victory now.
Mandy is too far gone to be of any worth.

As stated, because Mundine has already had the opportunity to rematch Geale but instead chose to vacate the belt.

Now that Geale has a respectable legitimate big 3 title, all of a sudden Mundine's sniffing around for a shot - I daresay he's just trying to steal as much publicity from Geale's win as he can in the lead up to his next opponent Toliver :yep

 

Mandy beat Geale, and Geale beat Sylvester. Get the picture?
