Urban dictionary also states.. 2. the term comes from the word "honky-tonk", which was used as early as 1875 in reference to wild saloons in the Old West. Patrons of such disreputable establishments were referred to as "honkies", not intended as a racial slur but still a disparaging term Like i said, splitting hairs so he can have a sook to the mods, it wont work. I am not using it in a racist manner nor have i intended to. Brua would be best to grab a box of tissues or suck it up like a man but he has another agenda.
The two references I provided above both clearly describe honky as a racist comment used by blacks towards whites, and one is the renowned Websters dictionary.
You could be purple for all I know. But the word you used is recognized as an anti-white racist term - as shown in Websters dictionary amongst others.
Like i said, it has about 8 other terms its used for on that same site your refering to, none of which are racist. Ive told you im not using it in a racist term and the word is not banned on ESB so wtf is the problem?

E.S. Brown ... he always introduced himself as '******' / File THE E.S. "******" Brown stand at the Toowoomba Sports Ground is to be demolished but the controversial name, deemed offensive by the UN, may live on in a plaque on a statue at the ground. Toowoomba Sports Ground Trust chairman John McDonald said yesterday the trust was looking at building a statue of Mr Brown, the city's first international rugby league player when he was selected for Australia against Great Britain in 1921. Mr McDonald's comments came after the trust heard last week that a consultants' report had found the 50-year-old stand to be unsafe, prompting its immediate closure ahead of demolition later this year. "****** Brown was the first footballer from the Darling Downs to play for Australia, he was an alderman on the council, he was a businessman, he put money himself into the development of the ground," Mr McDonald said. "His name will live on - and his name is ****** Brown." Indigenous activist Stephen Hagan has been trying to get the "******" part of the name on the stand dropped since 1998, but Mr McDonald, who is also chairman of the Queensland Rugby League and a former international rugby league player, said he saw nothing wrong with keeping the name on a plaque. "When I first played for Australia in the 60s, he congratulated me and I said 'thanks very much, Mr Brown', and he said 'call me ******, that's my name'," Mr McDonald said. Mr Hagan, who took the matter to the UN after the High Court found that the term did not breach the Racial Discrimination Act, said he would be lobbying the state Government not to allow the naming of a "******" statue. There is doubt over just how Mr Brown got his nickname: one version is that he was a white Australian who was so blond and blue-eyed that his older brothers gave him the nickname as a joke. The other version has Mr Brown as a dapper dresser whose shoes shone due to a shoe polish called "****** Brown". So what's your point Nige ? This subject has been discussed ay some length in the past. Maybe the good father's of that ultra conservative city Towoomba could also introduce segregation on public transport and in public toilets, restaurants and bars as a novel tourist attraction, Could also make Birmingham, Alabama it's sister city One good thing is Macdonald and his dinosaur mates can't live forever. There is still time for the Garden City to move into the 21st century.
There's a good reason the forum won't let you post that n.... word. It is not only very widely considered a racist comment. It is also highly inflammatory and best left well alone.
