“Living a healthy lifestyle is what I do,” says Mundine. “I try and convey that to the youth. Through my profile and becoming a World Champion I try and give children an understanding that by not drinking and smoking and by believing in yourself, you can do anything. I encourage all young people and their parents to attend this event.”

Haters try and detract from his acheivements and talents, they cuss him out and put him down but Mundine is a true champion in every sense of the word.

I guess Australia just likes its sports stars to be a mouthpiece for their sponsors while being humble for no reason.

I dont think anyone disses Mundine or hates on him for his healthy lifestyle. Dont twist it like that mate.

I would even agree that he may inspire young people to achieve something. But we all know all of that has nothing to do with the hate he gets. And I really dont need to go into why he attracts hate... its been done to death...

Brah people hate someone that talks big then goes out and performs. He is one of the greatest athletes of our generation. People hate on him for his clean living, his stance on racism and his refusal to say what the masses want to hear, he is what most people wish they could be and that breeds jealousy. He quit a sport on principle to be his own man, he is on the brink of becoming a boxing "pioneer". You have to give it up for Choc. Far too many people have no spine.

I like choc and some of his lifestyle values , and he has been a world champion but his religious views of world and aussie events has always been his weakness . Fighting for your peoples rights and past injustices is one thing but giving the ok to religious terrorists killing aussies in New York damaged his credibility and legacy big time here in Oz permantly . Just a point of view .

Bro, the comments were taken out of context. Also 9/11 was a total inside job. Open your eyes, wake up and don't be a sheep.

America's foreign policy is terrorism at its best.

No doubt that you can't fault him for his healthy living, but in regards to his mouth I can't see how he is a role model particularly for Aboriginal youth. In that respect what work of any significance has he done working with young Aboriginal people or to promote boxing among Aboriginal youth. He may have done something in Redfern but I am unaware of anything else he has done, maybe someone can inform me?

Reality is he doesn't go out & perform..........he calls out all the big names & avoids them all whilst continually thinking he's one of the elite.........thats why I'm not a fan......was at the start but simply got sick of the sideshow bull**** that became his legacy.....ducked the Kessler rematch, ducked Golovkin, ducked Trout.....should of ducked Garth Wood.

I am sure many aussies hate him because he never has a "tinny". It has been said on this forum about **** like that. It is sad but true.

:patsch Mundine stands up for his people more than most people, he is an outspoken leader. He does lots of charity work, because he isn't shouting about it on TV doesn't mean it isn't happening. You are so ignorant.

    Mr 3 time :deal

Golovkin still isn't a name, Trout isn't a name, Wood got chinned. Kessler was/is a big SMW, Choc shouldn't have been fighting at 168 - the fact he won titles there speaks volumes.

Choc supports Islamic terrorists that have killed Aussies , might have to watch himself as the relatives of those killed have not forgotten him .

If you look at 911 being an inside job then american administration at the time also supported terrorists as a means to an end. I think Mundine is an exellent role model for aborignal youth and kids alike. oh and welcome back 20a87

3 Time B grade champ.......never beat a legit champion for the belt ever.....tried twice in Ottke & Kessler & came up short both times & even in defeat at least he took the best on & I do give him credit for trying.........then chose the road to fighting journeyman or aged fighters......sad shame really had all the talent in the world but never really applied himself just talked more about it.

people dislike mundine for saying he is boxings bradman etc.......but never steps up. bradman was the best in the world at something, mundine never was, never will be.

the only time he did step up, he was ko'd or beaten convincingly. green was his best ever performance, but green struggled with the weight, and was hardly ever the best in his weight in any class.

mundine has said for 7 years he is going to america to shock the world etc. he never went. finally hes gone. 7 years is a long line of lies...

mundine plays the recist card too often. people dont like that. now and again, when its called for, people will accept it. but he wears it on his sleve.

he slandered cathy freeman. she is loved by aussies. she ran with the indigenous flag at the olympics. we loved her for it. she got in trouble with officialdom, but assies still loved her..she never had a big mouth or a chip on her shoulder. she was what he will never been.....the best in the world at something.

people loved many aboriginal sportsmen and women, evone goolagong, lionel rose, etc. no racism there. just respect for people.

mundine stated he wouldnt fight aboriginal 'brothers' or muslims. who is racist? but he ended up doing both!!

he is so full of ****, it is obvious to even a housewife that has never seen a boxing match. his big mouth earned him trouble in the NRL. he wasnt the best 5/8 at the time. he may have been the best summersaulter....

mundine brought the dislike on himself. it wasnt the press. it was his own big mouth, and refusal to "step up".
