Three more years as People's Champ, fighting Argentinian all-comers?   Choc's generosity knows no bounds! :hi:
Imagine his bank balance though , PPV his whole career , what was his latest PPV numbers ? No wonder he don't want to step up if he's earning solid money parting Aussies with their hard earned and if people are prepared to sanction this wallet expanding stuff then more power to choc . Just don't call him a champ ..
Anthony "Champion of People's Hearts" Mundine IS a Champ, in the eyes of the Buenos Aires Maxi-Taxi Association. And to Choc, that's ALL that matters!:yep
THN! Looking at your avatar I couldn't help myself. Put a green helmet on Mikkels head and it looks like a bad commercial for camouflage, you know, in one of those military magazines available in convenience stores. I think your avatar would win more points in poster size where one can actually see what the tattoos are all about. :good
This is the $6 million dollar question isn't it? Mundine would have improved although Kessler has had the big fight experience. Mundine would have picked up a few things after watching Calzaghe.
I don't think it's so much his fitness as how to carry himself through 12 rounds. It was this problem that played a huge part in his loss to Otke, in which he was gasping for air after throwing as many feints as punches and doing 40,000 laps of the ring.... The temple shot combined with the lack of oxygen sent him into a winter wonderland. Although he had done enough work to be ahead on points v OTKE IN GERMANY (amazing in itself) he just run out of gas, similar to the way he did in his first Soliman fight. That didn't happen v Hamdan where he paced himself well and finished as strong as he started. This is one important area in which he has improved due to experience.
You make a good point and it could very well be the recipe for more Mundine succceses. But don't you think he carried himself well energy wise in Mundine-Kess I? I think he did okay in that department and still he didn't match the output of Kessler IMO. My point is that since both boxers are skilled I think Mundines best chance is "simply" to outwork Kessler. He should try to pull the Calzaghe-scoring-machine tactics. Doesn't have to be spectacular, don't need tons of power punching, as long as he scores consistently throughout all rounds.
Question to Aussies, Was Mundine really ahead on the score cards when he got parked up by Ottke ? :huh
Hehe - again with the "Mundine was ahead on the cards" - Mundine fought well considering his exspirience and so on - but he was behind on the cards none the less!
