    Mundine vows to 'whip' Medley
ANTHONY Mundine's long-awaited return to the ring is back on, but not on his terms.

Mundine was scheduled to fight fellow Sydneysider Robert Medley for the IBO junior middleweight world title next Monday, but was having trouble making the weight limit of 69.7kg.
At one point this week the bout was off.
But after hurried talks over the past 72 hours Mundine will take on Medley, a rising star of the fight game, in a non-title bout at middleweight, under the stewardship of the World Boxing Authority.
Dubbed “The Australian bash”, the bout is set at the slightly higher 71.5kg limit, a weight Mundine is more at home with.
Mundine today described the bout against Medley as “another step in my legacy”.
“I'm still the man. I'm going to whip his ass,” he told the packed media conference.
Never short of throwing a barb at bitter rival Danny Green, who beat Roy Jones Junior to retain the IBO cruiserweight belt in Sydney last month, Mundine described the Perth-based fighter as a myth.
When pressed of the likelihood of a re-match with Green, Mundine added: “I whipped him once and I can do it again.”
Medley, ranked just outside the top 10 in the weight division, said: “I'm not underestimating Mundine.”

I suppose 1.8 kg is better than 2kg difference.

Mundine must really be in decline because his camp were so worried about possibly losing a points decision to Rob Medley that they threw a hissy fit and wanted the damn judges changed. Of course it had nothing to do with him having to kill himself to get down to 154.

    Nice post Luds.

Sally & F75... either of you realise this bout is a kilo under the M/W limit?????

Not to mention Mundine has a week to re-stock energies.

    Some sense coming through????

For **** sake Luds, I hope that news is factual.. lol

$100 says he still does not make the weight.....The size of his mouth is too big for him to stand on those scales.

Medley is getting completed ****ed around here and it's a disgrace. Yes i know Medley has agreed to the fight at a higher weight which shows his great character but he had to really or Mundines camp would have pulled the fight and Medley would have lost his chance at a decent purse. All because Mundine himself couldn't make weight.

Nah mate.. what happened in Tassie stays in Tassie. Mundine grew a second head to make some local fans... that accounts for the extra weight.. lol

I dont think Mundine has the workrate or power to actually hurt any1 these days..

He should easily outbox Medley but doubt he will hurt him..

I hope Medley fights dirty and swarms Mundine..Best option.Keep it in a phonebooth..

    Mundine would **** himself..

Ill take you up on that offer. Pick someone to escrow the funds till the official weigh in.

Alternatively Ill just take your word for it.
