The frustrating thing is though that when he applies himself he is a very good fighter. I think at his best he could beat Kessler, although I don't think he believes in himself at the moment.

Whatarock, your ignorant. IT WAS A TITLE FIGHT and IT WAS PPV. Whats this "being billed" crap. Like it or not thats what it was. Lots of people were there and most were entertained. THats boxing champ. I went and had a look at it at the club and had a good time. So did everyone else there. Actually, many applauded Mundines peformance.
Does it add to legacy? I dont care. Do I wont him to step it up? Yep. Is all this stuff about a bad performance nonsense? Yes.
About Choc choosing this opponent, its as he said. Keeping busy trying to get serious fights, cashing in and working on a few things. What can I say, non of that upsets me too much. Its not like Mundine gave up an opportunity for this fight. Kessler, Calzaghe, Froch, Lacy...were these guys the alternatives to Nievas. No...reality is as Briggs and Khodder said, its tough to get big fights. Your ignorant whatarock.

Mate from what I have read on these boards, WhataRock knows probably 3000 times what you do about boxing. You are seriously the most biased nuthugger I have ever met. I reckon if mundine told you to suck a dogs dick because it was going to help him focus for his next title fight, you would get down on your knees and do it no questions asked.

Then when he one you would claim that it is the secret method to success, and that every other fighter in the world is so far behind mundine and his secret training methods.

Mundine is mandatory to Kessler - and it's more than 18 months since Kessler defended against the WBA-mandatory - if Mundine wants the fight he can have it - all he has to do is win a pursebid or come to Denmark.

Problem is that Kessler isn't fighting for peanuts anymore.

Mundine simply doesn't have the balls - simple as that!

I am pretty certain that the 18 months period began when the Title was "Unified"........which gives Mundine plenty of time to fight more chumps.

Kessler had an arrangement (with the approval of the WBA) to fight Mundine after Andrade......... but our Anthony wasn't interested in the chance to win 2 legitimate Titles and forfeited the chance so that he could defend his Paper Title against an Argentinian Cabbie.

Unfortunately, I get to read the Dribble from EelsRule when you quote him, but in this case it's cool, coz it gives me a chance to shoot him down......:D

You don't read too well....eh "Dumbarse"?

Mundine knocked back the opportunity to fight Kessler for the WBA and WBC Titles so that he could fight Nievas.

(but you sure know your boxing.......right?)

Oz I know that's your playing card at the moment, and fair enough, he stood down an opportunity to take Kessler, and his comments don't match up with that... but what if the deal was just shonky... I don't think Mundine denies that Kessler is number 1 and has every chance to beat him again (Kessler beat Mundine that is). Why risk it for **** all money if there's a solid chance you won't win anyways?

Yeah, there's all the 'I'm the best' "i want to unify" etc... but a) He wants to make $$ doing it and b) he, me, you, Australia, Nasser, every ****ing athlete with an ego in the history of sport all know that he's running his mouth because it's the attitude that a) helps make money and b) puts you in a winners frame of mind.

He could have forced the issue by going to a purse bid......but obviously thought it wasn't such a great idea.

that's alright, neither does oz. :D

you don't "force a purse bid" any time you feel like it. a purse bid comes about when the set time has expired for both camps to agree a deal - in this case, as Oz has already agreed, it's 18 months from the date kess beat beyer.

Your personal attacks make me wonder why you're here :?

I wanna see mundine in one of the 'big fights' also.. but its a bit off yet. he's cant just fight calzaghe, kessler, lacy etc every 4 months. Every week there's lopsided battles and there's not a million threads on here about it??

MSTR, your an idiot. Totally silly contribution. About your ascertions, you dont even believe them.
I doubt an offer was made to Mundine. His "gumption" has been questioned before, but the facts are he always takes big fights that come up. Its like this "offer" Calzaghe made to Mundine. Oz takes it as gospel but most sane people see the reality of the matter.
Look I dont begrudge guys like Oz (who get hard to explain and confusing erections when Mundine gets his shirt off) having high expectations of Mundine to the point were he should fight the best every time. But just keepo some reality involved.
