I feel sorry for the you guys in Oz this guy pretty much shows everything that's wrong with Boxing. He bring the money to the table that could get him big fights but he is more interested in robbing the public taking easy fights for easy money.

UK. Just a real shame he wouldn't have taken the Golovkin fight it would have gotten him a real title (not really but kinda) and would have been among the best if not the best wins of his career. Also Top Rank were involved and I am certain if he did well it would have helped him get a fight against some one like Sergio Martinez. But instead he is happy taking easy fight after easy fight making decent money, he won't get near the major names in Boxing by taking on guys that are barely inside the top 50 of the World.

 

I think you'll find that deep down inside, Mundine and his team all probably know the guy is done fighting any "live" opponent who is at all a risk to beating him. His fights of late have shown he is clearly in decline, and as he has gone down in weight, his feather fists would barely have the ability to knock his wheelchair ridden grandma out.

But the fact of the matter is, the guy can get away with it. Boxing is simply an irrelevant sport in Australia that barely registers a ripple in the newspapers. All the evidence you needed of this was found with the recent Katsidis win over Mitchell, which didn't even get a mention on aussie news sites, bulletins or broadcasts.

As a result Mundine can capitalise on the complete ignorance of the aussie public, talk of his "world domination" plans (which began in about 1999 by the way), and continue to fight walking corpses and sell them as PPV's, whilst at the same time milking the public for every cent. Deep down inside Mundine knows his time has passed on a crack at the US. Talk of making it big over there is simply him living in a fantasy land, and he knows it. I doubt you will ever see Mundine be involved in another fight of any real significance whatsoever. The recent duck of Golokovin for a real world title in his own backyard simply proves this. Mundine will continue to fight cabbie after cabbie and just keep lining his pockets with the gullible public, as they all wait for his "shock this world" plans in year 2020.
