Do you honestly think Mundine has improved since he last fought ( and lost ) to kessler ? Why did he give up his title rather than get his revenge ?

If you lose to Sciaca you lose to Pavlik, Hopkins, Abrahams, Kessler, Calzaghe and lose badly or widely

Mundine is no bum... He`s ben too careful with bigger fighters in the past... preferring to back peddle and counter when possible.. His infighting with Kessler was better than expected, and clearly grounds to improve on, albeit ... from fighting the larger men more often.

One gift he he is talented with is reflex... combined with anticipation, timing and a bloody good set of punches, he is well on par with all 3 you mention... He needs to be exposed to these tough individuals... He seems to learn and improve constantly, but little can be gained by not being tested above depth...

With the last contests, his career is in limbo...maybe is even plataued???

I used to think that Mundine would have a fair shot against Pavlik, but he's put in too many lacklustre performancs of late, not just lacklustre either, I think it's clear that he's declined somewhat.

He's not nearly as evasive as many think he is, he has been tagged with shots he normally wouldn't have been tagged with in his last 3 or 4 fights. Aside from that, he doesn't have the mentality to engage in a dog fight with the guys mentioned above. He'd either get stopped, or would jog his way to a uD loss.

If a nobody like Crazy Kim can floor and hurt Mundine then imagine what Pavlik will do to him. Imo Mundine cannot beat an elite level opponent.

If he had peaked earlier he would have beaten Kessler in their first fight. Kessler is nothing special mate

 

Jogging to a UD would be reasonable.... better than dogging it. At least the fight wouldgo into the books.... Question marks over any fighters name can do more damage than good..

 

Kessler was overrated by the Danes, but he's still superior to Mundine.

One thing that people have to understand, is that Mundine isn't a more aggressive fighter now as opposed to when h fought Kessler, it's just because he can let himself go more now that he's fighting the guys like Neives, and Yoon Sun Moon or whatever he's called.

 

Nobodies have a history of sitting great fighters on their bums..
