IMO mundine does not have to give up his belt to get big fights.

    just buy them.

winky wright fought hopkins for $2.5 million usa dollars.

taylor got about 3 million usa for the pavlik fight

calzaghe got $8 million for hopkins $ 5 million for kessler

    andrade/froch/inkin/bika/ are all $ 400 to $500k fights,

obviosly team mundine do not want kessler again which is the reason for the going down in weight.

at middle abraham and sturm looking at $1.5 to get there attention.

    $2.5 million pavlik.

money talks and because all 3 middle weight champs come from big stables it is going to require buying a title shot .

since mundine has this option he is going to have to take a financial risk and possibly a financial loss and get it done quick.

agay11's very quickly moving into Gay Gav Stone territory - he obviously spends a hell of a lot of his time planning out Mundine's fantasy career

I like how in agay's mind it's virtually a given that Mundine will:

    1. Secure a fight with Winky Wright and/or Jermain Taylor
    2. Beat them

Who has Mundine fought and beaten to indicate that he can be competitive vs the likes of Wright and Taylor? These guys have been fighting the best in their respective territories, and the level of comp in the US is far greater than that in Australia, yet Mundine supposedly has a chance?

Mundine's moving down to MW, admittedly because he can't hang with the big boys at SMW, yet Taylor is a HUGE MW.

Cut the crap, it's evident he's setting his sights on the weakest MW champ in Sturm, just like he set his sights on the weakest SMW champ in Ottke, and we all know what happened there :yep

I was disappointed by the claim that 160 is currently a deeper weight class than 168. I mean, shouldn't artful nuthugging retain at least the pretense of reason?

Actually, Ottke was never considered the weakest champ at 168. His and Calzaghe's stocks were around the same back then (remember Calzaghe's opposition wasn't that **** hot back then) and he was more highly rated than Mitchell, and Lucas, and certainly Beyer when he beat Lucas.

Him and Calzaghe were the 2 big champs at 168 then, and their stocks were around the same level back then, if anything, Ottke

Sorry, I meant weakest as in weakest-hitting.

Just like Sturm (13 KOs from 32 fights, although that's still a better KO record than Ottke's  )

Ottke was definitely the weakest hitting at 168, though famour pictures or infamous for some would lead others to believe otherwise.
