Real Geale A True Wests Tigers Man

Wests Tigers have thrown their support behind avid Member and professional boxer Daniel Geale as he prepares for a world title fight in May.
Nick-named The Real Deale, Geale lives and breathes boxing in between looking after his wife and three children. And when time allows, the very likeable boxer loves nothing more than getting out to cheer on Wests Tigers.
This was the case at Campbelltown Sports Stadium last Saturday night when Geale was introduced to the crowd at the Canberra game where he spoke of his upcoming fight.
Geale also fired the starter’s gun for the junior relay and later presented Wests Tigers Captain Robbie Farah with the 1989 League Legends Cup following the side’s win over the Raiders.
Last month, Geale was an active part of the Club’s push for supporters to become a Member as part of the Battle of the West competition – won by Wests Tigers.
He also has previously put the players through gruelling boxing sessions at Concord Oval.
Geale, the former IBO Middleweight Champion and the current IBF No.1 rated mandatory challenger, will fight World Champion Sebastian Sylvester of Germany on May 7 at the Jahnsport Stadium in Neubrandenburg, Germany. He leaves on April 22.
“With 7 weeks to go, my trainer Graham Shaw will step up preparations to have me in peak condition and ultimately, relieve Sylvester of his belt and bring it home to Australia,’’ Geale said.
“Sylvester is a great champion with multiple defences to his credit but this is my time and I won’t be denied.”
