I don't know mate. He may not be the greatest boxing journo but at least he isn't biased to one or the other like Weidler or Kieza. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/theyve-lost-the-faith/story-e6frf9if-1225897745446 He gives it to both Mundine and Green in this article.
^ He does give it equally to green and choc, but definetly has an agenda. Also shows how little he knows about boxing when he states that choc is still earning the same as a first grade league player, but with far less bruises. What a ****ing silly comment. Choc as a 5/8 in league would put his body through far less pain and effort in a league season then training and sparring and fighting a few times a year. The sheer discipline and determination to campaign at 154 pds alone would take more effort let, alone the countless rounds of sparring. Paul kent's problem is he reports his own deluded feelings and not the real news. As a journalist it is your job to leave your opinion at the door, and present a story that is thoroughly researched, Paul Kent = Epic Fail.
Seriously what tribe speaks that language?? I havent a clue what Mundine was saying..He writes like my annoying 16yr old sister and her friends do on facebook... Mundine should be thankful for any publicity these days...Without the negetive press we wouldnt see him on tv or in the papers at all nowadays..
Mundine Spars and fights ppl with no pop in there punch..The weight cutting is the only thing i would say is hard on his body..The bloke has had nearly 50 pro fights and im yet to see busted eyes a broken nose anything to suggest hes been in a war.. And thats not coz he is that good...He just hasnt been in any tough fights.
Paul kent has always hated mundine like most other aussies in this country. He needs mundines name or his storys wont get read. He barks on about geale, dib or lenny at times but he quickly learns that without mundines name in the story,no one cares. Everyone at the daily tele hates choc, has done so for years. As for chocs spelling on twitter....i doubt he cares. He is a boxer, not an english teacher.
Hate is a big word..I dont even know Mundine well enough to hate the guy.. Do i like him and respect him..Not a whole lot.. Though i give him props for being a non drinker no drugs etc..I havent got such strength.
He used to try sound and be like ALI. Then it was Roy Jones Jrn.. Now Mayweather.... The one person he has never tried being is HIMSELF...I hear so many stories of him not being like how he is potrayed and how he seems on tv/papers etc.... If he was this down to earth great guy that his inner circle see all the time then he would be Ozzies number one loved sportsman earning 10 million a fight selling out footy stadiums....We are a country known to love our ozziebattlers.;..We are not a country known to love big mouth showboats.
I think that's an extremely harsh way to judge him. He's had a stack of injuries throughout his career, e.g. ankles and hips, but cause his style of fighting is not like a Katsidis, his fights aren't perceived as 'wars', which style is a double edged sword in boxing. In saying that he has had a number of filler fights, but has kept himself in top condition for all those fights even which shows how hard he trains. Add the weight drain to that and you have to give him lots of credit.
As a athelete i give him props..especially his no alcohol/drugs.. As a boxer i give him props...fairly skilled and slick As a fighter..Nope... And has nothing to do with his style...He completely shys away from the hard stuff if it means having to get in there and take a few shots... Siaca fight was prime example..He literally gave that fight to Siaca..So tentative.. And kessler bout..Was so proud of himself coz he got touched up abit in a wide points lose.... I true fighter would of died on his sword trying to win that fight not be happy with at times mixing it with his opponent... Even Mayweather has had to get gritty and dig a few wins..Corrales fight comes to mind.
