Or like Telstra should be commended because of the fine service they provide on the basis they are very wealthy?

I think we know what most people think of the above examples.

Being wealthy from fighting mismatched opponents isn't something a great fighter would be proud of.
A fraud maybe, but not a great champion.

Do you honestly think he will make 1 million for this fight? It hasn't been advertised yet, fewer and fewer pubs/clubs are showing his fights and he struggled to sell tickets to the geale fight so this one has no chance of drawing a crowd without a lot of free tickets.

I don't know the ins and outs of money for a promotion but I am sceptical he would recieve that amount for this type of fight.

 

I think he can make $1m...here is my rough numbers guess

To make $1m this is whats needed.....

15,000 homes PPV @ $50........ = $750,000...less 40% for ME = $450,000
200 clubs and pubs @ $1,500... = $300,000...less 40% for ME = $180,000
4,000 paying at the gate @ $90 = $360,000........................= $360,000
sponsors................................= $300,000........................= $300,000

Total = $1,350,000

Take out $150,000 in cost for Venue event

$1.2m

$200k to pay staff/manager

Being the main event and the promoter helps him make the $1m.

When he fought Geale the PPV homes was close to 50,000 and Danny over 100,000.

This fight is far from a big fight but I still think it will come close to the above.

Neither here nor there with your numbers Ash, but it certainly is amazing that so much can be gained from so little.

I dip my lid to their business success but in a sporting sense it really is just plain sad.

2. Manfredo for the 160 IBO title he just won
3. Geale rematch when Geale grabs his next title
4. .....or any non title fight with US ranked fighters 10 to 30 at 160
