Notice how it's gone from 'WINNING' a title - to 'FIGHTING FOR' a title - these days Hmm:

...by December it'll be 'FIGHTING ON A TITLE FIGHT UNDERCARD'.

    A career pass mark?

...after the endless list of mismatches you'd have to be kidding.

A pass mark in the context of Ash predicting Choc would win a world title in 2011.

    ...only if Choc wins obviously.

Yes of course....but then everybody will start bagging the WBA saying Cotto is the super champ and Trouts just a paper champ

A fairly moot issue unless Choc actually beat him.

Buying a fight and winning one are two entirely different things.

On a ppv fight, that would compare to the geale fight, would you buy it.

It's okay Ash - he's gunning for Cotto too

I bet Cotto will be concerned when he hears Choc's knocked over a name like Toliver.

Disappointing he left PacMan off his name-dropping list this article though:

Mundine bags Toliver and goes fishing for Trout

    by Steve Kilgallon - smh - June 6th 2011

AUCKLAND: Anthony Mundine says he wants to take on WBA light middle-weight champion Austin Trout next and WBA super-champion Miguel Cotto after his defeat of unheralded American Xavier Toliver last night.

"I want the champion,'' Mundine told the Herald. "After I beat Trout [who is due to defend his title against David Lopez next week], I am going all out to beat Cotto.

    This content is protected

Mundine restated his intention to become the first boxer to win world titles at three descending weight divisions. Mundine and Toliver didn't make the junior-middleweight limit, agreeing a 71.5 kilogram catchweight (which both were also marginally over).

Mundine might be unaccustomed to being the sideshow, but had accepted it with good grace, saying on the eve of the fight: "I know that Sonny [Bill Williams] is the man over here.''

A busy Mundine dominated Toliver from the outset. To jeers from the crowd, Toliver's corner waved the towel midway through the seventh round as their man came under heavy but not fight-ending fire.

And honestly the way Mundine is perceived and the Credibility he has overseas which is Zero, and after last nights disgrace its probably dropped a few more notches, what would the overseas boxing Fans think if Trout actually gave Mundine a crack,it would permanently damage his image and he would be critisised Big time by Boxing critics for taking the easy fight and fighting a bloke who quite frankly on past performances does not deserve to be in the same ring with Him.

Trout V Mundine you have to be kidding fresh off fighting a bloke who is ranked 260 or something would be a disaster for Trouts career,it aint gunna happen.!!!

A bit hard to say really. Khodar doesn't let little things like that burn the plan.
Toliver is a welter so he would have made Khodarweight. Choc is a given.

With respect Ashley, you're defending the indefensible, you have to know that. You're selling your soul to a Snake oil salesman.

You're not alone though, the whole game is.
Boxa has taken professional boxing to a level not recorded since the days of Primo Carnera, & that's saying something.
If you think this is over dramatic, once again, you're kidding yourself. It's worse.

The list of thinly veiled, & in some cases, completely undefended, breaches of official tradition, rules & matching is littered with incursions that, at best, have most insiders aghast at the temerity, & at worst, an abhorrence that will be reflected as the days boxing was the sporting worlds *****.

It's this complete & utter abuse of opportunity that keeps these strings running.
It's like being in love with a beautiful drug addict. She's got everything but morals, & we live for the day she throws the needle out the window, but it never comes.

When the book comes out, & it won't be Choc's version, much younger boxing tragics will be say, "What the hell happened back then. Was everyone asleep?!!"

You should be follow those that's took the blinkers off, not Oil can Harry.

Exactly - hence the relevant words highlighted in yellow in CHB's post - if Trout doesn't entertain the idea of lowering himself to fight Mundine, we'll hear all about how Trout 'ducked' him :-(

PS - good post Rodin :good
