Mundine to fight for world title in 2011

Ced. The first half of his career was entertaining. A lot of people actually enjoyed watching him fight... and win.

The second half has been a ****ing charade. A money grab.

If other's are inspired by the second half of his career, and future promoters/managers/trainers hope to emulate it, then NO, it's not good for the game.

I could write 5000 words on this **** Ced, and you'd look a ****ing goose.

 

Trout's too big a fish for Mundine, Choc's too busy fighting guppies to worry about fighting a big, strong upstream swimmer :yep

 

Mundine would have to actually get down to 154 to fight Trout - yet another reason why he won't

Many guys never took up boxing, so we don't miss what we never had.
Like I said, the first half was good for the local scene.

Mundine is now nothing more than an internet arguement. The viewing factor is empty of any form of entertainment, or positive attributes to the sport. Had he continued to be matched with 50/50 or 60/40 opponents, then yes, the sport would have continued to benefit.

Manipulative money grabs are good for nothing.

so Bobby a yes or a no are we in a better position because choc took up boxing or worse. I know it's been a good start and a bad finsih but overall better or worse

Worse, and getting worse.

Fans are turning away from the game AGAIN. Newspapers have backed away again. Television makes little, or no mention of the sport. Green & Co. have followed suit (to a degree) since the return to the ring.

You tell me. Is it encouraging fans to the sport of boxing when $50 is charged to witness endless mis-matches and lop-sided under cards?? Take away the bull**** balloons and streamers aspect of Mundine's promotions, and little is left... just talk, hype and rip-off.

We have a fighter in Victoria that's won a truck load of belts. He'll never step up to the plate for an Aussie title shot, as he is continuously steered toward regional belts. Regardless, his backers are not leaving any negative mark on the sport, as no one has to see the Indo's, Thai's and Filo's fall, one after the other, as the promotions are not PPV'd. He'll be a boxing trivia question 5 minutes after retiring.

Ced, if people are to pay $50 for a PPV, then QUALITY matches are a must. If every promoter had the ability to provide such poor cards as Khoder does, then boxing would die quicker than it is already. Boxing in this country IS NOT in any better position because Mandy took up the sport. Eastsideboxing Aussie Forum certainly is. 20-odd people will to-and-fro on this site. 50,000+ people have stopped paying for Mundine PPV promotions.

You do the math.

 

Mundine will continue to fight bums/nobodies from overseas with ok records ON PAPER or domestic level guys like Medley/Wood/Waters until he decides to retire or one of these opponents retires him. If he steps up to top level opposition again, which i doubt, he gets beat.

 

The quicker he puts the cue in the rack the better Aussie boxing will be,it's not that far away I reckon has no hope of luring a Big name out here to Aus,he is finished and I think even his most adoring fan's deep down know this.!!!!

Mate, there's a thing is sport that attracts wannabe's & nerds, "Winning".

Khodar knows that all he has to do is keep Choc winning & he'll keep the "Winners" & their cash.

Boxing is just the platform Khodar uses for his entertainment dollar.
Apart from the fans that want to see him step up, most of which have given up, the remnants of what may have been something special are his bread & butter. They love to get up & cheer because they are on a winner.


I'll tell you what would be interesting. To see the pays before & after his loss to Garth.
I think there was some real business research went into that fight.
