this makes sense though. Crazy has a huge following in japan and Mundine's obviously looking for $$...
So he's fighting him at the Newcastle Ent Cent? Must be angling for the massive Japanese PPV market :yep
Heh. Premiership number 21 will come to Souths before Mundine has a big fight in the US. When all is said and done, Mundine treats his boxing like I treat my job. No desire to reach the top, he's just happy to go about the easy route and earn his cash that way. Mundine's superfight is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that I once used to believe existed.
I think it's time you took a reality check. This is a joke, not matter what slant you put on it. Rick.
He is backing up 2 months after his last fight :deal Are you suggesting that if he were to by-pass this opponent and go straight into a fight in 5 months time against a quality opponent then that would be more credible? :huh It's very simple for anyone that can look at it objectively. The guy's fighting on a very short back up, slipping in a certain opponent for whatever reason. I don't care if he wants to fight neighbourhood drunks once a week. The problem lies in the standard of opponent he fights isn't fighting after that crucial 8-10 months period when most champions have their next big fight. The late October date has always been set in stone, due in part to external factors that would take the focus away from a big fight. I'll wait until that opponent is announced before I become critical.
Me thinks there are alot of jealous people! WHo do you expect him to fight! its his first fight at middleweight! ANd some of you people think you know about boxing! I think some of you have no idea and are just on the anti mundine bandwagon! get over it! he is the best boxer we have by a long way at the moment! I know its not that hard when you look at what else is around! Just jealous people!!
Absolutely. Sparring sessions don't give him credibility, and he's no spring chicken. One would assume A grade fighters fight A grade fighters - these opponents speak volumes for Mundines real ability, and maybe more importantly, his confidence, or lack of. Perhaps I'm not looking at as objective as I could, as I have little time for him. However you are most certainly not looking at it objectvely either, as you think the sun shines from his behind. You're biased. Fair enough, you're forever hopeful. Rick.
WHy does the fact that it's his first time at a different weight class mean he has to fight a tomato can? Great fighters fight top level opponents in any weight class. This whole warm up idea is a crock. Sure, I'm jealous of Mundines money, but then I'm jealous off anyone who has significantly more money than I do. I don't hold that against them though, and I will also like them if they are likeable. Mundine isn't all that likeable though, he has a big mouth which he rarely backs up. As far as the best boxer we have, yeh, probably, but not by a long way IMO. Rick.
Agreed. Calzaghe stepped up to LHW and took on Hopkins Mundine steps down a weight and takes on a tomato can atsch
Mundine is a disgrace, giving up his belt without fighting, fighting tomatoe cans, remacth with Green! ffs. It seems like he has no pride, just greed.
