I dont think this is a bad fight for Mundine.

No way was he going to fight a top 10 in MW first up.

Kim is listed at 20 at LHW and holds 2 regional belts.

In my view he should be rated circa 35.

Good fight for Mundine because he will pick up a belt and get in better position for a good fight.

I dont know why everybody is down on Mundine for his first MW fight.

Did anybody expect him to fight a contender in his first fight?

However I will be pissed if his next fight is against a similar fighter or Green.

yes we did expect a top 10 as he claims all this **** then has no action to back it up!

as someone said earlier all the "best" do and mundine claims he's the best yet acts in true journeyman fashion as to who he fights!

Then you all better lower your expectations of Mundine because he is only ever going to take the easy road to another belt.

No way he fights a real top 3 ever again.:deal

Mundine on FOX Sports today promoting the Kim fight talked more about the Green fight than the Kim fight.

Also mentioned was a billy Dib title shot on the undercard?.....I think?

So if Dib is fighting for a title....does that mean Mundine is on the undercard?

    Taken from ********* boxing website.

COCKY South African Zolani Marali will be trying to derail brilliant Sydney fighter Billy Dib’s world title ambitions when they clash next month in Newcastle.
Their battle for the IBO world junior-lightweight title will be the main supporting contest to Anthony Mundine’s next fight against Japan’s Toshiharu Kaneyama, who fights under the name Crazy Kim.
Dib, undefeated in 20 fights with 11 wins by KO, is promoted by American boxing legends Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley, but will fight for his first major title on home soil at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on July 30.
IBO champion Marali has also had 20 fights for 13 wins by KO but has suffered one setback along the way, losing in nine rounds to another leading South African Thomas Mashaba in 2004.

Dib, now training with Johnny Lewis, the mentor of five world champs including Jeff Fenech and Kostya Tszyu, is looking at the IBO crown as a major stepping stone in a career Lewis says can hit the highest peaks in the fight game.

``Billy has all the class in the world,’’ Lewis said.
``He is a superb boxer and this is a major fight in his career.
``The IBO title isn’t the biggest in world boxing but it does carry a lot of clout and the South African kid is a very talented fighter.’’

Dib won five fights in America starting in 2006, appearing on such huge fight cards as De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas and Mosley-Miguel Cotto at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
He hopes winning the IBO title will set him up for some super bouts over the next two years including a potential major showdown with Aussie rival William Kickett, who is also undefeated.
Kickett scored a disputed points decision over another of Johnny Lewis’ world champs Gairy St Clair on the Fenech-Azumah Nelson card in Melbourne on June 24.
``We’re certainly looking at a fight with Kickett,’’ said Dib’s brother and manager Emaid Dib.
``In its own way it could build over time into the kind of rivalry we saw with Danny Green and Anthony Mundine.’’
In the main event in Newcastle, Mundine (32-3, 23 KOs) faces Kim (28-4) who was taken 12 rounds by Geelong\'s Heath Stenton last year.
Kim was knocked out two years ago by Argentina\'s Javier Mamani.

I hate to say it but thats how sad Aussie boxing is when a world title fight in on an undercard...in Australia!

You would think Lewis would be able to pull in a promoter and help the kid?
