Smith lost a split dec against Molina for a world champ belt -the fight WAS awful but close. Smith is also homies With Floyd. So the fight would make sense but tough fight for choc. No way he wins this easy - should be an underdog in my opinion. Still i doubt it will happen - Dawson seems like more of a mundine pick.
Did he look worse in losing his belt to Molina than Mundine did in Alvarez? Wood I? Geale II? :think Choc has run hot and cold these past few years and generally the poorer the opposition the hotter. (shining brightest with no-mark X-Man and shot to bits McKart & venerable cash-grabbing glass-backed Mosley...) I have no doubts that Mundine by UD is the safe pick here (as Shay of all people won't be one to render the judges superfluous) but you can bet it will be a wonky decision or at the very least wider than it ought to be if he does actually seem to deserve the nod.
"Ishé Oluwa Smith about an hour ago via Twitter Don't know who started the rumors, but I have not signed any contracts regarding a fight with Anthony Mundine." "Ishé Oluwa Smith about an hour ago via Twitter Nor has my attorney or team contacted me about any fight regarding Mundine. I would think I would be first to know right?" ...:conf
Mundine is the one who just paid Shane a million for a vacation down under. Don't worry Smith is very aware of who Mundine is. :yep
If this is the case its a smart move by Mundine. Isnt Smith promoted by Mayweather? Im pretty sure he is and if Mundine wants to make a statement to Mayweather as he is claiming that he wants to do, why not put on a show against one of his guys? Dont know if it will work but its not a bad way of goign about it. Sure beats calling him out like everybody else is doing.
Well, by that logic, Molina should be in the running for a Mayweather date having just made exactly that statement already... Somehow I doubt he is.
Good point. Knocking off Mayweather's fighters would be a good way to **** him off and take notice. If he takes this angle he should make his intentions perfectly clear. The question is though does Mundine really wanna take the fights that'll lead to a Mayweather shot though? If he fights Dawson than I believe the answer is a very clear NO! Why did he not fight Trout? Can somebody (who believes Mundine truly wants the big fights) please answer this. If Mayweather decided to face Mundine next over Khan everyone's immediate thought would be he's facing a guy who preffered to relinquish his title rather than defend it against an up-and-comer. The Trout fight made 100% sense to take to pave the way to Mayweather. Beating a 42 year old via the way of back injury has not shook the world of boxing. Nor will a tune-up fight against Dawson. Call out Saul Alvarez or Erislandy Lara and throw Millions at them like he did Mosley and a stoppage win over either would make the whole world take notice, including Mayweather
Oh, just like there was a big conspiracy within HBO that you told us about, right? How'd that turn out, you stupid junky? atsch
