Geale was around #9 or #10.

Soliman was #6 at Middleweight in the April 2007 edition.

Echols was #3 in the May 2003 issue.

Mate it gets me how these things go around.

This is unrelated but it astounded me.
On BBC TV a show called "Around the world in 80 trades" about a young bloke who buys in bulk, takes it to another country & sells it on for a profit.
In China, he buys 750 "Inflatable body-boards" & takes them to Acapulco & sells them to an enthusiastic manager of a large sports store.

These "Inflatable body-boards" were around when I was a kid (60 years ago). We called them "Surfer-planes" & most of the Sydney beaches hired them out.

    I guess "What's old is new again":lol::lol:

    Too true.

Skateboards, yoyos, hulahoops, billycarts, toe-thongs etc, all disappeared off the face of the earth at one stage or other. Only to return again when you least suspected, just like the clap.

So is this fight going to happen or will Money be the excuse it never comes off?

i dont think Mundine can defeat Woods, he is just to akward , strong and raw for mundine to deal with, it wasnt a good fight, one of the worst we have seen this year so mundine knows its not going to make him look good, and by not makin the fight happen will also make him not look good, however if they put blame on the Woods camp for this rematch not eventuating then perhaps just perhaps everyone will look sideways while he contuines, ala steve ottke.

Tend to agree with most of this here...bad fight to start with and the rematch will be ugly and akward no matter who wins.

Choc needs straight up boxers that he can use his speed against and beat them to the jab......IMO chase Alverez and Trout...these fights Mundine can win looking good.

On the contrary sport, I was keen to know the answers, and previous RING ratings aren't the easiest things to find.

As I've said many times, facts don't faze me one little bit. Boxing's a sport rich in facts, and it's all about learning them as we go along.

Denial of facts is more the domain of the nuthugger - ever keen to suppress facts that don't support their cause - like trying to pretend recent opponents like Falliga, Medley, Jerez, Waters & Wood represent anything other than a trainwreck!

On the bright side, in this thread you learned something - about QUESTIONS, and how they contain words such as do, which, why, how etc, and end with one of these things - ?

Do u think the rematch with Woods will not eventuate Ash? i have a funny feeling it wont as we both agree it was a bad fight to begin with i dont see why mundine would want to do it all over again however its a catch 22, dammed if you do and dammed if you dont kinda thing. Makes more sence than fighting Soliman 3 times lol

Billy Dibb is also the same way as Mundine imo, look at the jap guy that had Billy rattled, the look on Billys face says it all , guys like Mundine and Dibb just cant deal with awkard blokes like this, i think soliman is as awkard as mundine can handle, even then he had troubles in the first fight and imo only won the other fights as he had improved and was a tone stronger than soliman, sam being a small middleweight at the time.

honestly id like to see him clear up his name, help the sport and invest some money into helping it florish here in australia, help the amateurs out and get it cleaned up in this country, Mundine stated to me on interview that he had problems in australia with the amateurs and his father thus he fought overseas for a few amateur bouts. Its sad to see him turn his back on this side of the sport and not assist it when its clearly in need of it.

setting up something for boxers retirment funds or something would also be good, some of these guys retire after spending yrs in the sport with nothing to show for it and thats when they get back into the ring for money and get hurt, used and abused.

Mundines legacy is what he will leave behind for future generations. he best get a move on

I have a question for you......were the ratings of the fighters choc fought for his titles considerably higher than you thought? :yep

It will be interesting to see if you can answer yes or no without some other sort of detracting statement :hi:

Though I knew none of them would be #1, they were higher than I thought Ash.

I hope they dont take the fight mate.....however they are doing the numbers so its every chance they may just do it.....IMO it will sell very well now that people have seen what Wood did

I guess people will think its a chance to finish Mundine off......Khoder will be thinking this as well and the numbers ticking over in his head will work.....however Garth wants 50% and that could be the hill too far for Khoder.

We have seen Choc come back from Otkee, Kess and the siaca losses....I dont think it will be any different with this one.

Khoder will certainly try to screw team Wood over again - like he did the first time around.

    'The fight's off'

'It can only go ahead at middleweight'

    etc.

This time around Wood should be entitled to a fat slice of the action, and should certainly be angling for 50%.

IMO the driving force behind the rematch will be pride though. Mundine will NOT want to have the Wood loss on his record without trying to avenge it.

Mate you will find that Garth was paid almost $500,000 for this fight....the only people doing the screwing was Garths manager

For Garth to get 50% of the second fight is just crazy and IMO will kill the deal :deal It wont be chocs or Khoders fault if the fight doesnt go ahead.

yeah he come back from the losses but he never fought those guys again after loosing to them m8, thats what im trying to point out. I think they will avoid it and money will be the excuse we are given. I dont think we got an excuse for not rematching Siaca or Kessler?

I think its fair woods gets 50%, he did knock him out after all and it would be worth a pretty penny to redeem that lost id imagine, i guess it comes down to if Mundine can pull it off because money should not be a factor, he has bucket loads of it as it is, it should be pride and wanting to amend the loss, if not he is not worth a pinch of sht m8.

Its to late for him to say oh we shouldnt have fought woods etc, it was a bad bussiness decision, all the risks and no reward. Garth knows this is his bread winning fight and so does his camp, if anyone gets to garth before mundine the show is over. They are going to milk the mundine cow for all its worth, id do the exact same thing if i was in Woods position, i dont think theres anyone here that would do any diffrent.
